Anyhow, I've just realized how awesome Tomoko Kawase is as well as the stuff she produces. With that said, whoever she's married with is ONE LUCKY GUY (to be with someone like her) Tomoko Kawase - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Anyway, does anybody know any female j-artists with powerful voices? It's very hard for me to like listening to get into female artists, because I usually find their voices obnoxious and nasal.
One exception would be Otsuka Ai, since I find her compositions outweigh the flaws in her voice. (And after listening to Shachihata on her Love Letter Album, I've pretty much forgiven her.) | |

If I'm right then yeah that's cool and AFAIK their vocal range is quite neat as well.
In fact, I also admire Japanese musicians and music artists who can speak English and other languages other than Japanese (such as Angela Aki, Utada Hikaru, Gackt, etc.) and conversely, I also say the same to foreign peeps who sing in Japanese (Kwon Boa, Leah Dizon, Jero aka Jerome Charles White, etc.)
With that said, you should check out this guy.
NYCCA - multilingual rapper NYCCA - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
He sings in Mandarin, Cantonese, English and Japanese YouTube - ?NO.1?/NYCCA????
Awesome stuff

Kana's voice is not bad, but the higher notes can sound quite strained. It's nothing too special, but at least her songs are nice.
That said, has anybody ever heard of Chara? I think her music is beautiful, in that it has this very nostalgic sound. But man, of all the godawful voices to have....
Listen to Kata Omoi: YouTube - ??? / Chara

TERRIBLE SINGING. | Jero is cool indeed (and unique cause you rarely see non-Japanese do Enka or traditional Japanese singing for that matter)
@proto/type_(boy)
I guess different strokes for different folks. In the past though, my little brother noticed that too and he made fun of it often. Still, I do believe that "AIKA/ELEGY" was his best song ever.......and it was really emotional indeed (even when performing live).
