-Demonbane. After Yesy dropped it, I had to wait until Shinsen decided to sub it. Oh, and yes, episode 5 = o_o
-Saint Seiya: The Hades Saga ~ the Sanctuary chapter. You may say it: it's old news. Well, I already know that, but... the DVDs of this thing are being released here... with the old voices in spanish ^___^ It's amazing.
-(not anime) Furuba. After some brainwashing, Miss Conduite convinced me to read this manga. Amazing so far, though Yuki touches some nerves. Oh, and yes, Tohru is adorable.
-Digi Charat and Pita Ten. More leik the only anime I watch on Animax.

I'm sick and tired of the local stations here showing re-runs of Yu Yu Hakusho, Dragonball and Slam Dunk. I practically grew up on that stuff, and they're STILL showing them. sheesh

Marketplace Rating: 0 | Fast fact : the Philippine government banned the showing of anime during the Martial Law period (1970s), specifically the mecha anime Voltes V and Daimos, because they believed that these shows advocated rebellion.
Voltes V is the most popular anime here, and even kids know the blasted opening theme by heart.
Talk about paranoid =\

And to think that Saint Seiya, Mazinger Z, Harlock and other really old shows were part of my childhood. :0
If I'm lucky, I'll be getting Vol.3 of SS Hades Saga this week.

Marketplace Rating: 0 | Since I'm rather frustrated with the way most TV stations cut certain parts in anime both to remove "immoral" scenes and make way for more commercial ads, I prefer getting the DVDs of any anime that catch my fancy these days.
Even so, I still watch free TV stuff so I don't get left behind. Air Gear, Law Of Ueki and Pretty Cure are up on my current to-watch list.
I got the DVD of Gundam Seed Destiny and just finished it a month ago. Now I'm hoping like hell that they'd port the Sugar Sugar Rune DVD over here.

It's a beautifully told story of an angel-like being in a walled town, based on a story by Haruki Murakami and a poem by some other slightly more obscure writer. It's short, at only 13 episodes, but it's definitely one of the best anime I've ever seen. Highly recommended.

It must be because I have quite an interest in Japanese hip-hop, but I find Tokyo Tribe 2 to be quite entertaining. It doesn't have deep characterization or a complex story, but it does have Japanese gangs beating the crap out of each other to a soundtrack of hip-hop beats, and that's good enough for me. I enjoy how it's not overly GANGSTA BRING BRING, though I imagine that most of the appeal I draw from this series is from the music, much like FLCL years ago.
I found the soundtrack for it and I was rather surprised that some big US names collaborated to produce some of the soundtrack. Imagine my surprise when I saw Ghostface Killah and De La Soul.

The station that airs them considers ALL shojo titles as kids stuff though, so that can be a little annoying... but I guess they were on the mark with this one.
My recent purchase was an Initial D First Stage DVD. Boy, did it look crude compared to 4th... but it's nice to actually see how Takumi came to be the best downhill racer Akina's ever had as opposed to just reading the cliff notes version in Wikipedia.
As for free TV, The Snow Queen and Eyeshield 21 are my new lookouts.
