Nagato is so emotionless and yet so cool, and Haruhi has to be named the all-time female pimp of anime. And Kyon is so cute. the episode order confuses me at times, but it's a great series.
I've been watching Ergo Proxy lately, and I kinda like it. It reminds me of the Matrix and Big O. I've only watched the first four episodes, and I hope it gets more interesting later.
And i finally got around to watching Excel Saga. What a messed up series that is. That's all i have to say.

Probably innaccurate example:
Ino: Just what are you anyway!?
Sakura: A girl who's just as strong as she is beautiful!
...honestly, what a stupid exchange that was. Why would that be anyone's response to that question?

Marketplace Rating: 0 | btw who watches prince of tennis (as in, loves the series, has seen the majority of the anime episodes if not all) and has seen the dub?
can we say, atrocity of dubbing, equal to the status of the later dragon ball z dubs combined with the fuckery of the first season of sailor moon?
good lord, i have never seen anyone fuck up a series as bad as what they did to PoT.
they made everyone sound like a surfer dude, took out ANY originality in character/voices (i.e. momo sounded like a punk, fuji sounded relaxed, tezuka sounded mature, ryoma sounded cocky, all of the voices fit their personalities and were greatly varied)...
(and ryoma sounds about 20, while momo, snake, and fuji sound about 10, and the freshmen sound like they're 40, while sadly, the reporters and nanjiro actually have the most accurate voices to the original and their personalities lmfao)
(also, there are actually scenes where the voices don't even match the facial expressions; for instance ryoma does the buggy whip shot, and momoshiro has a look on his face like "duhhrrr" (because in the original, he was shocked and just said "wow" slowly), but in the USA version he actually VIVIDLY exclaims something like "wow, that was amazing!" with this look on his face.)
and they DON'T EVEN FUCKING LIST THE REAL NAMES OF MOVES. WHAT THE FUCK.
in the original, for instance, kaidoh's snake shot, is a modded version of the "buggy whip shot" which is a *real* tennis move.
They say this in the JPN version; in the american one, they just say "it's a move with a lot of topspin" which is not only incorrect as fuck, but doesn't even list the name of the move. wtfwtfwtfwtfwtf
to add to the stupidity, every time a person runs, they make these grunting sounds like they're getting fucked in the ass, worse than DBZ "charging" sounds, by far.
Finally, the intro has been gayed up and turned into some emo song.
Go to toonami and look up prince of tennis, they'll have video clips, it's REALLY bad.

seriously, that series is pretty much an auto-win for all anime music video competitions if you have it as your series, yet it's such a shitty series compared to a ton of other things.

Marketplace Rating: 1 | After having watched Haruhi I'm pretty satisfied with it. Like Excel, I found myself drawing comparissons between it and other series, but I didn't mind it. They justified the use of archetypical anime characters by the fact that it is in fact a story created in the mind of Haruhi Suzumiya and (presumably) played out in real life.
At first I felt that the ending didn't tie up enough loose ends and I was kind of frustrated by it, but I've come to like it. Of course, the writer could make the ending really wishy-washy and show that the relationship between Haruhi and Kyon is, in fact, love. However, being that the last episode was actually the 6th in chronological order, you can see that Haruhi still treats Kyon like shit even after the incident. It would aggravate me if the author had made the story to have a "correct" interpretation of the events all throughout the story. I like the fact that you can interperet it in any way you want.
For example:
- The story never states that the world it portrays is, in fact, the world that every other human being percieves. Of course, this could be true for any anime, but the fact that the universe happens to revolve around Harhui all of a sudden 3 years before the tale starts (coinciding with an event in her life that made her feel insignificant and not special) makes you wonder if this could just be a dream/daydream of Haruhi's that has self-aware characters, or that she could be living in her own alternate reality, formed by stories she read and wishes she had been in. Or, she could be writing the story of how she wants her life to be like.
This goes along with Kyon's little lecture in the "first" episode that when human beings don't have something, they have to invent them- or wait for others to invent them.
- On the other hand, it could deal with the fact that Kyon was the main character. Perhaps Haruhi Suzumiya is the manifestation of his own frustrations. Remember that in his lecture to Haruhi, he says that he is an ordinary human that waits for the geniuses to invent the things that are missing. Since he himself cannot "create" espers, aliens, and time travelers, he waits until someone like Haruhi comes along.
- Another possibility is that the story is the collective thoughts of both Haruhi and Kyon.
- At any rate, the philosophical statements made within the series imply that it isn't depicting reality, but rather someone's realization that reality is how one percieves it to be. Recall Itsuki's statements in episode 13 (in the show's order, not chronological) about anthropic principle. You can have a field day with how to apply that principle to the events of the show.
As for the ending-
- Did Haruhi actually enjoy the kiss from Kyon in closed space? Did she go back to the "real" world because she realized that Kyon wanted to share the bond with her in the real world, or is it that her subconcious was uncomfortable with how close the bond was in the closed space and wanted to go back the real world, where Kyon wouldn't have done such an action? Of course, she wears the ponytail to school the next day, but it might have been to confirm whether or not she was dreaming. As you notice, the ponytail dissapears after Kyon comments on it.
- As for the continuation of the Haruhi series, do the people she "created" dissapear as she matures? I'm wondering if this will be the eventual ending.
I don't necessarily believe in the interpretations I just mentioned- it's simply speculation on possible explanations. Like I said, (I hope) the author probably intended to leave the explanation up to the individual.

| But the problem is that it's not a music video, but an actual series with plot and characters. The only good thing that came out of it was that the Pillows were recognized as being a good music group. Aside from that, the series itself was medicore at best. Quote: |
