A group remixes various tracks from Sonic 2 pretty well. Project Chaos :: News
And another group decides to one-up them with a great series of remixes of Sonic 3 & Knuckles songs, including the most epic interpretation of the final bosses.
What have you guys acquired? | |

Rather cool death metal. And I'm not huge on death metal.
If you're into things like Sunn O))), Aardtmann op Vuurtopberg may be up your alley: aardtmann.tk
They've got their demos and such up for free grabs.
For thrash fans... if you like Metallica, Megadeth, early Anthrax and Testament, you cannot ignore Heathen. They've put their first two albums and their new demo up on their site, and they kick large amounts of ass: The Official HEATHEN Website!
Another death metal band, Carcariass. If you like Death around their Human album, you'll enjoy this. If not, it's good and should be downloaded anyways: http://www.carcariass.com/disco.html
Zaraza's Slavic Blasphemy is good for those who enjoy more of an industrial edge in their metal: Internet Archive: Details: ZARAZA "Slavic Blasphemy"
Keep in mind, though, that this is more Godflesh than Ministry.
Gnaw Their Tongues is a bit... odd, very noisy, but I enjoy them: Internet Archive: Details: bubonic burial rites Internet Archive: Details: gnaw their tongues vomiting helplessly promo Internet Archive: Details: gnaw their tongues - issei sagawa ep 2007
Since you're all a bunch of weeaboos here anyways: ninjamagic.tk
Yes, a power/thrash band with songs about ninjas. I'm not going to comment further.
Amboog-A-Lard: These guys are cool. Just download this. Note that one of their guitarists left to join Marilyn Manson (blech), where he became known as Twiggy Ramirez. MEDIA
Another experimental group with tinges of black metal (only tinges, mind you): Nauthisuruz
Umbah has some real quality industrial metal (this time more Ministry than Godflesh), and something like ten albums for free download: Index of /cybergrind/mp3z
Dimaension X may by up some of your guys' alleys: Music page of Dimaension X - I Am Become Daevel - MP3 music page on SoundClick
For people who need a healthy dose of dirty, gritty THRASH METAL, Nailgunner. nailgunner.net
Machinae Supremacy is a band ITG players should know, and everyone else SHOULD know. Their site has gone through some weird overhauls, but I managed to locate their downloadable material here: Machinae Supremacy
And then, of course, there's my favorite free album download... DARKSPACE. Well, their Darkspace -1 demo, anyways. Darkcyberspace - Transmission failed
BUT UNFORTUNATELY, it looks like they're rebuilding their site, so it may take some time before you can download the demo. And by "demo," I mean 45 minutes of ambient black metal.
I may come back and post more later.

There's also Nine Inch Nails' latest album, The Slip, which is CC-licensed if you're into that kind of thing. I'm not, but I downloaded it anyway just to increase their download counter.

This is an album with 5 tracks done by a couple friends of mine. It was a remix experiment where they started out with a Children by Robert Miles, the first person did a remix of it, then the second did a remix of the remix, etc. The last two tracks are REALLY fucking good.
Gnostic usually makes glitchy breakbeat stuff.
Sleep Eel usually makes Funky/Deep House.
Exohedron, I have no idea.
Neurosama makes acid/psytrance
Sinusoid makes abstract minimal psychedelic ambient glitch (NO WAY TO REPHRASE THIS)

Farzad Golpayegani. They're an instrumental rock/metal band from Iran who incorporates some traditional Middle Eastern instrumentations and influences in their music. Very listenable stuff.
All three of their albums are available for free download, due to the issues of getting their stuff released in Iran. FARZADonline.com | Music
(P.S. someone should make stepfiles of this stuff)

You know you want to hear this. Production's raw, of course, but the demo may be downloaded here: RapidShare: Easy Filehosting
Band's myspace is here, wherein you will see the link above is sanctioned by them.

There ye shall find links to download stuff by Terminal Sound System and his other projects. If you want some sludge/doom/shoegaze type rock, he's got some of that. But the real winners are the ambient/electronic pieces he's got there.
