Do you think that the 5th harry potter movie will be better than the other 4? What parts do you think they will leave out? Add in? What are your opinions on the movie?

The movies get progressively worse as they go along, So I'm not expecting much from the 5th. I nearly walked out of the 4th movie. They just bastardized the books plot and took the action sequences. Story be damned. There was such little character development and interaction you might as well of had actors just parachute into scenes at random.

While I realize you can't fit the entire book into a movie, the 4th movie missed the point entirely. It was never about the tournament, but it was all about the mystery surrounding Voldemort and the murders, etc... Wow way to completely ruin the entire story at the very start of the movie. These stories have always been mystery and suspense, with a little bit of action thrown in, not the other way around.

It also relied way to much on fans who have already read the books. Some of my friends had to have me explain it to them afterwards. Watch it from the perspective of someone who has only ever watched the movies and you'll understand.

Making more money than the Queen of England herself, is quite an accomplishment, but accomplishing this by selling books is something I wouldn't have ever expected possible in this age. We are such a visual society Its amazing that an author could have this much success not only with children but with adults as well. That being said, I can't believe she Ok'ed these films to be shown. They completely miss the point of her books.

in the movies.. they are apparently trying to appeal to those who are interested in the action genre.. not what the book was originally intended for... therefore.. changing almost the entire point of the story... they shouldnt have done that.. after getting so many faithful readers.. who .. only from reading the books.. created their own versions of the books and web sites..

I have really low expectations for the fifth movie considering how bad the fourth was. Shame, because the fifth book was amazing to read.

Anyone else anticipating the seventh book?

So... I really love the Harry Potter series, and I seem to be one of the few that's fine with the movies. I don't treat them like the books, so if they want to leave something out, cool. Act like you've never read the books (countless times, even) and the movies are pretty entertaining then.

And oddly enough, I suppose, the 5th book was my absolute least favorite, so I am not anticipating this movie as much as the others. Also, the release of the 7th book will likely make me break down and cry. I've been into this series since I was 11. This is the end of something sacred to me and I'm not ready yet ;_;

I'm guessing that I might start nervously shaking. I remember in camp in 2005, I shouted "OH MY FUCKING GOD!" when Snape killed Dumbledore.

I enjoyed the fourth movie(not as much as the third, but I did) and I look forward to the fifth, even if I have no idea how they'll possibly fit the proper story into the movie.

At least Goblet's movie worked the increased romantic tension into the story, especially at the end of the dance.

honestly i think the movies as a whole were a mistake and nothing much more than cashing in on the sucess of the books.

they just bastardized everything that i did like about the book and instead of adding some stuff they took out, they add stupid filler stuff instead.

i know creative licensing and all but i wish it was at least a bit closer to the actual series

They seem to get more and more off from the books, but I'd give the movies another chance. the 4th movie was really cut and different from the book, I would have preferred it as 2 seperate movies then one that was reduced a lot.

it would have been nice to have gone further in detail and just make more than one part but the time required to do that would mean that the series would end a lot later, cause the books dont seem to really be getting any smaller.

meaning they would probably have to get new actors for most of the main characters, or they would seem much older than they are supposed to be.

This differs from most movie's and T.V. show using older people to play younger characters how?

Also, the spolier thing happens in the 6th book (the blood prince) not this one.
