Default J-Dramas

I just started watching J-dramas, and have become hooked! So far I've watched "One Litre of Tears" (freaking sad) "Nobuta wo Produce" (freaking suspenseful) "Stand Up!" (freaking hilarious) and "Hana Yori Dango" (freaking heartwarming)

Anyone have some suggestions of what to watch?

I don't watch a lot of Japanese dramas -- hell I've only seen the one series -- but I recommend Densha Otoko if you're a bit of a geek. It's a great romantic story and it's interesting to see people's thoughts on geeks, including the producers, because the guy who plays the male lead overdoes it sometimes. No-one can be *that* geeky can they?

"Gokusen" is a good one and I really liked "Kimi wa Petto"
I absolutely love Hana Yori Dango and I can't wait til they sub the second one!

Isn't "Kimi wa Petto" the live action version of the manga "Tramps Like Us?"

I found it a bummer that Tsukushi and Hanazawa Rui didn't get together... It seemed like a more suitable matchup than with Domyoji...

Bahaha, the only Japanese show I'd ever watch with the folks. Recommendation by me, too.

I watched Densha Otoko and it was pretty good. Think of beauty and the geek. Fun times. ^_^ Another series I watched partially was Summer Snow. Haven't had the time to finish it.

Yes it is! Sometimes I don't understand where they get the English translations of the manga titles.

And I think the relationship between Domyouji and Tsukushi was way more fun than her and Rui.

Yeah, it was sorta like a cutesy elementary school romance. :P

Season 2 just started. I only saw half of the first episode, but it looks like it's going to be a good season.

What ever happened to the Trick Series? That was a fucking WIN show, I remember I was there for the end of Trick 2

That was a long time ago though, did they ever pick up Trick again?

Hiroshi Abe was in it too right?

GTO's an oldie, but a goodie. Generally anything with Sorimachi Takashi will grow on you.

The only Jdrama I've ever seen is the live action adaptation of GTO. It's one of the best series I've ever seen.

The only bummer of the live action GTO series is that it doesn't show most of the funnier moments in the manga...

Haha, well if you guys liked the GTO drama then i definitely recommend "Gokusen". It's like a female version of GTO, but I thought it was a lot more enjoyable.
