Not to be a Genre fag or anything, but I've always wondered at what people label as "Japanese hardcore", or at least what I see frequently associated with that genre on this site.
I just always thought "hardcore", being a genre, meant a sort of mix of punk and metal. To me this was always what Japanese Hardcore was.
Oh and Yuma Asami ftw, but oh wait its in media discussion hurrr

to be really specific, the japanese hardcore they're talking about here would be japanese hardcore dance/techno, which is pretty much the same as regular hardcore dance or techno, but with cutesy japanese female vocals (generally speaking)
there seems to be a hardcore version of every genre anymore...hardcore punk, hardcore techno, hardcore rap, hardcore gospel, hardcore adult contemporary, you name it
