Ferris Bueller's Day Off.

What a great '80s comedy. Only 1 thing bothered me. What happened to Cameron & his dad about the car after it crashed?? But otherwise, a great film. 5/5.

I now have to watch Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within.......

Damn, I really have to watch GI JOE again (seriously, that film is really addicting )

P.S.
Mini-reviews for "The Hangover" and "Aliens in the Attic" coming later this month

Transporter 2 - 9/10
Intense, fun action. I liked it better than the 1st.

Revolver - 8/10
Guy Ritchie's action flicks are always p good. This one was kind of a mindfuck, too, but it wasn't that hard to figure out what was going on. The cast was fantastic.

Glad you liked it.......though I'm not sure if you will enjoy the 3rd one as much as the first two (unless you like girls with freckles such as what the lead female actor Natalya Rudakova has on her face)

Hehe

I love girls with freckles

Edit:
Equilibrium - 9/10
Started off a bit slow and there were some flaws with a couple of the characters, but overall this was an amazing sci-fi action flick.

2001: A Space Odyssey

......I'm not going to lie: I don't get it. I just didn't seem to enjoy it. Most of it felt like they were dragging things on too long. I do admit I liked how they envisioned the future, but it didn't feel like there was much of a plot aside from "we need to stop this....breakout or something" & "we're going to Jupiter, but HAL is malfunctioning". Plus the ending, while interesting, just doesn't make sense....

I hate to say it, but 2/5.

8/16 edit: Soylent Green

Now THIS was a good film. The only thing I sorta didn't like was the cliffhanger ending. It really didn't solve anything. It seemed like the end of a TV show, making us wait until next week to see what happens. 4/5

You should have read the book first, makes a bit more sense that way. Also, you need to think outside of the box when watching the movie or reading the book.

On topic:
Watched District 9
10/10
Just go see the damn thing, it is amazing.

I did read the book as part of English a few months ago (I chose to read it) & again, like the movie, I thought it was OK. There was good parts, but felt other parts just dragged on & on.

Alright, I'm gonna watch First Blood tomorrow.....well, today, just maybe during lunch.

Indeed epic for its time. Granted at first, there were some areas and concepts that were confusing to me, but eventually, wow the effects, action scenes and the 'gun-kata' moves were really unbelievable.

Definitely amazing if you watch the uncensored version

@mapo and Saber-san
Hmm, I didn't realize that Peter Jackson had a hand at that film. No wonder the ratings for this were so high (and I thought that it was just some average film that gets shown nowadays).

I guess I have to watch it then.....

P.S.
I also need to watch GI JOE again as well as the Hangover

Lots of movies to watch indeed

Watched the old John Goodman comedy King Ralph last night. It had some funny parts and was enjoyable to watch but it sorta reminded me of movie Larry the Cable Guy would make now. I enjoyed it more, though, because I like John Goodman. I'll give it a 6/10.

YEAH, you don't screw w/ Rambo!! Great action flick, & you can make a drinking game out of it! Every time someone swears, you take a drink!

5/5

Peter Jackson directing the film wasn't a factor in wanting to see D9. It could've been another director and I still would've seen it as long as it was still worth watching.
