I tend to think Detroit Metal City was perfectly done as a manga-turned-anime. Each episode was roughly 12 minutes long and its content was exactly as it was in the manga -- no extra b.s. and no cut off segments (except the manga -does- continue). If Yotsuba was done as a series of shorts crammed into a 12-minute episode, I'm sure it could be done well.

I wouldn't hate it if they turned it into an anime, but it has to be done right, like what many suggested earlier, a series of shorts. Dragging things on for too long will turn it from delightful to boring.
