I've noticed this question a lot. First time was when I played Tony Hawk's Underground and that was running at 60 Frames Per Second even on PS2, while the commercial was around 25 or 30 FPS. This was also for Wii games like Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, Super Mario Galaxy, and Super Smash Bros. Brawl, all three running at 60 FPS, but commercials are half the FPS. What is going on with this. Why don't commercials show game footage at 60 FPS and not 30?

NTSC video is 29.97 FPS. Captured video for broadcast will naturally be lower quality, especially after going through NTSC post-processing. It's pretty basic stuff.
Maybe if those video game commercials were during the Super Bowl
commercial for the new madden game during the super bowl would be a good idea...

Well, not CLASSY classy, more like a "hold your pinky out when you're masturbating" kind of classy :/
