The screen wills spin and battle music will start to play. You and drunk friends will be forced to stand in a line rocking back and forth holding over sized swords. A group of retarded looking monsters will appear and you will take turns hitting each other. When it is all over you will get 648 Gil and a fire ring. Why the 12 foot tall monster with no hands had a fire ring that fits everyone from you to your grandma will still be mystery to man.

Actually, it's the 701st. But in all reality, this is the correct place for it. So, uhh, kudos for being a good forum poster.

Copypasta from my Xanga.

Quote:
Ok, first off, let me say this. I went into the movie expecting a shitty plot and enough holes to make a grate. I went into the movie expecting a pile of shit covered in brilliance. I wanted to see this movie based solely on the fact that it had a great title and a wacky premise.

I came out having the satisfaction of being wrong.

Snakes on a Plane (SoaP) was a good movie. The plot explained its two most obvious potential flaws: snakes in Hawaii, and rabid snake behavior. Both these details are backed by a revelation later in the film, which automatically made it work well as a movie. Most of the other smaller details seemed pretty accurate as well. Adding to this, the archetypes were fairly subtle and the variety in the character types were there for comic relief, almost all of them.

As for the content, holy shit. This movie had so many jokes in the first action scene it awas insanity. After the first one you could see them coming, but god damn they were all so great. The people in the theater--including myself--cheered for the deaths as they came. The action sequences, even when they weren't intended to be funny, were entertaining to a great degree and kept everyone attentive the entire time. People clapped, people laughed, people awed in amazement at the sheer brilliance that was SoaP. This night was a great night for movies.

I'm not being elitist or humorous or even funny when I say that the movie is worth watching. Not because of its title, but because it turned out to be much more than expected. For an idiotic plot, they sure as hell pulled it off.

Also, Samuel L. Jackson.

Yea it has that Evil Dead 2 feel to it. Disturbing gore that turns out to be funny as hell. They purposely created characters they want you to hate, then they have them destroyed by man-eating snakes. Pure brilliance.

In all seriousness, its one of the better movies I have seen in a long time, and I go 2-3 times a week (saddly). Plot is actually pretty solid, and well as most of the acting.

God, I need to go see this, if not tonight, then Saturday. I fear that the experience won't be a visceral since I live in a smaller town populated by no-fun simpletons.

Also, http://snakesonapirate.ytmnd.com/ <- That's what I want in an audience!

Sigh, you guys are lucky, I saw it with the worst audience. I'm laughing at the jokes and old people are looking at me like i'm disturbed in the mind.

I won't have that. I'm going to hold out until the time when it's still in theaters but barely anyone goes to it anymore, like I did with Napoleon Dynamite.
