Default Timbaland

Anyone notice how much buzz hes been getting on the mainstream lately? I still remember him for his Alliyah productions, and I RARELY heard his name mentioned back then.

I personally cant see whats so redeeming about his productions. Sure, his beats are catchy and such, but hes doing something that Pharell and the Neptunes have been doing for years now. I can see one person coming to him, but I know four people working with him off the top of my head. Thats CRAZY! He must be REALLY raking in money now.

He did a GREAT job with Justin Timberlake (MY OPINION). I know a lot of people hate Justin's music, but there are some very good pop songs on his new album. Good to the point that I had to check out the album myself. Half the album sucks, but for the tracks that dont suck, they are VERY good (Again, MY OPINION)

As for Nelly Furtado and Pussycat Dolls....well I dont like Nelly's new image first off. I miss her "Im Like a Bird" days honestly. And Pussycat Dolls? All I can say when I think of them is "Are you fucking serious?". I draw the line at 4 members guys. I dont want to concentrate on 20 girls moving and grinding, especially when theres only 1 that really sings.

What do you guys think of Timbaland? I'd be interested in hearing opinions from a producer/musical stand point and from the general public.

I liked when he did a track with Utada Hikaru. I'm also impressed with his work with Justin Timberlake, but it's hard to be too crazy about produced music when I'm so biased towards instrumentalists.

Little known fact: Pharrell and Tim used to have a band together called Surrounded By Idiots (SBI, for short). That's why there are similarities in their styles, with Pharrell more focused on chord progressions and Tim on beats.

But seriously, the man is filthy rich. He only raps one time per year (see Promiscuous), and when he does, it turns into a smash hit. I personally want to see much more continued success for Mr. Mosley.
