Wasn't WB Toonami just a bunch of US shows that were already on the WB to begin with? Bleh.

I started watching Tenchi Muyo, using Toonami's death as an excuse to finally getting around to it since I had only seen a little bit of it back then anyway. It's OP sounds like something that would've been in older Pop'n Music.

YouTube - Cartoon Planet Band - I Love You Baby

YouTube - Cartoon Planet Band - Hoodleehoo

The music was the best thing about Cartoon Planet. I wish I still had the 2 CDs they released with it all.

I owned one of them before.

Also they need to get around releasing the original skits on DVD or something. I mean, if they could get Freakazoid! on DVD, then...

Agreed.

----------

Though I've gotta hand it to them though........

In my country, they were the one's responsible for popularizing Gundam Seed and Seed Destiny.

I'll give them that.

P.S.
Almost same can be said for Gundam Wing and Wing Endless Waltz.....except that some other TV channel was ahead first.

Plus side was that it CN Philippines showed it with very minimal censors.

So it was quite okay overall.

I remember the afternoon when they aired Endless Waltz.

Probably one of the most perfect afternoons back in the day. No interruptions and I was home alone.

Man. I'm a nostalgic fool, and this is turning it on prime style. I never realized it, but toonami is actually probably what started my interest in anime to begin with. So many good memories, and I'm glad I can remember watching the first episode.

Also, Johny Mutha Fucking Quest. That theme song was the SHIT back in the day.

Agreed

---------
In the CN in my country, GW: Endless Waltz was shown in both formats:

1) They would split it into three different episodes (one episode per week every Friday)

2) They would show it as one whole movie (still on a Friday back then)

It was indeed awesome. No cuts, the blood and extended scenes and stuff.

Oh those were part of the days of the golden age of Toonami (at least in my country back then)
