Anybody else seen this yet?

I thought it was decent. Not Pixar's best movie, but definitely the best-looking so far. Excellent soundtrack too. It had your typical Pixar cutesy humour, predictable ending, John Ratzenberger, etc.

Way better than their recent movies, in my opinion. Probably their best since Monsters Inc.

I really enjoyed it. Yes, it was pretty simple, and predictable, it had a certain charm to it nonetheless, perhaps largely because of things like the choice of music and general aesthetics.

What really confused me, though, is how the ridiculously fat people who had lived their whole life in a chair managed to walk.

That was one of my favorite things in the movie.

This should be interesting (as the trailer seemed to point otherwise).

Critics ratings (from Rottentomatoes) are damn high too @ 96%.

So it must be real good then.

I hope it comes out in IMAX 3D (though that's wishful thinking) :P

That little short at the beginning (Presto) had to be one of my fav. Pixar short.

Otherwise, was just another Pixar movie, which is good. I couldn't help but think of Portal near the end.

I saw the movie a week and a bit ago after i wrote an exam in edmonton, and it was a really good pixar movie. IMO, i thought Toy Story was still more enjoyable, but i was a lot younger when it came out. the ending was a little too predictable, but hey, it's a disney movie. It also had a pretty wicked shot in the beginning where the camera goes through space, reaches earth, and after it pierces through a layer of sattelites, you get to see that earth has been turned into a huge wasteland. pretty cool stuff.

Presto was a pretty cool short, as well.

Wow, I can't believe that this movie was so much fun to watch.

Better than Monsters Inc. at any time (though in essence, everything from Disney Pixar is of top-notch quality)

Cinematics as well as the story were real top-notch. It was indeed fun

Also, wasn't able to see much of that cool short film (Presto) but it looked entertaining.

P.S.

As for other upcoming Disney Pixar releases, it looks like Toy Story 3 and Cars 2 are still on-track for a 2010 release.

I guess all's good for Pixar then.

As for WALL-E:

Wow, I can't believe that my little bro is so addicted to WALL-E (I dunno why).

He's watched it for like 15 times already (yeah I counted).

Guess I better buy a Blu-ray DVD of it this December (even if I have to buy from Amazon.com and pay expensive shipping for it)

Just came back from watching it with a girl. Excellent. I loved the Presto short at the beginning.

We were the only ones who stayed and watched the entire credits roll. Everyone else had left the cinema.

Yeah I agree.

Though we weren't able to watch the whole of Presto though (only some parts).

Nevertheless, we kinda understood the concept (and it was clever indeed).

Thankfully, to satisfy my little brother's urge for the film, we're deciding to buy the Blu-ray version when it releases at the end of the year.

Boy, he can't wait indeed

Oh you wouldn't have to worry about that.

In a few more months (at around Q4 of this year), the home video of this thing will be released.

It will be released on DVD for a price that is quite cheap. Of course, here in Asia, VCD versions will be released (heh probably for 100 pesos) if you want the vid and don't mind much about quality/clarity.

Still, if you are really gunning for superb quality (as in like HD and stuff), then you can buy the Blu-ray version which is coming out as well.

Apparently, the specs for the Blu-ray version are really top-notch and I mean it:

-BD-50 disc
-MPEG 4 H.264 AVC Video Codec
-Dolby True HD and DTS HD Master Audio
-LPCM 5.1 and 7.1 support
-PIP supported (through Profile 1.1)
-BD-Live and interactive features available (via Profile 2.0)

I mean the goodies are all there

Plus, extras including commentary and that BURN-E special feature are there as well to spice up the package.

It does look real exciting.

Boy I can't wait

Unfortunately, I'd still need to get a PS3 within this month (in order to be prepared for that.....as well as for other Blu-ray films).
