Marketplace Rating: 0 | Well, I really only learned them because I had to for a class, and I haven't really done anything with it this summer because I'm lazy, haha.
So I mostly only know the pretty basic patterns in that regard. I rather like progressions like I-VI(or IV6)-II65-V7-I progression (or something similar). And applied dominants (especially between suspensions like in V64-V/V-V-I or something) are always fun. | |

I wanna learn how to make trance music.
Unfortunately, when I did try it using the Ableton demo program, I really had a hard time.
Perhaps it could be that I'm just a noob to this thing.
-------------
Question though:
If you want to learn how to be a DJ (or make or play some EDM music) by just using Ableton, do you have to like attend a class or tutorial session or something....since it's too hard to learn it by yourself?
Maybe someone who is versed in Ableton can help answer my question.
-----------
Thanks a lot

But, he told me that it's next to impossible to be entirely self taught, and the vast majority of producers he's met studied music production in some form in college, that anything you could learn will be useful. So I completely agree with the above statement, unless you're a genius or have really good connections it's a very good idea to take production classes.

ugh...
I played the violin when I was 8 and I sucked badly. I really want to be a drummer... like... a death metal drummer. Just a pipe dream cause I suck at multitasking.

Thanks to DDR, I have some decent foot strength and timing. Well, I can't exactly do extreme speeds yet, but I'm getting to a decent speed. Also playing a little guitar, and did a little keyboards for my Music GCSE two years ago. And, if it counts, I'm pretty adept at Music Theory. Also, wanting to get a shamisen soon. I love the timbres you get from it. | |

This band puts it to an interesting use: MySpace.com - God of Shamisen - SANTA CRUZ, CALIFORNIA - Progressive / Metal / Rock - www.myspace.com/gos
