Default What would be the most challenging Drum Cover track?

I've seen plenty of Drum Covers on YouTube - B.Y.O.B, & Reasons to Live (no negative feedback, okay?), for example, but what would be the most challenging track to do drums on, based on experience?

That depends on the opinion of which is more difficult: complex bass lines or complex hand movements.

i'll think about it when I have more time.

Something by Origin.

Because I'm pretty sure 99% of the drummers out there can't play that fast, and those that can probably can't handle the complex fills and rhythm changes on the fly. I'm going to say "Antithesis" specifically just because it's nine and a half minutes long and features many tempo and rhythm changes (although it definitely prefers "fast").

Since ribos is a music expert I cannot top him but:

By my knowledge, I am going to suggest something by Lost Horizon. Their stuff can be pretty intense, even if it's just fairly standard power metal faire. As for a specific song...

"Heart of Storm," for sure, that song is among their most intense.

ORIGIN.

YouTube - Origin Drummer
YouTube - John Longstreth (Origin) - Live Footage part 1

Sound quality on both videos is... not good, but you can see his hands and feet going.

The second video is a better demonstration of what that drummer can do

My God...the man is a drum machine (listen to those kicks)

Holy shit! Now that's what we're talking about, Ribos. A great combination of speed and four-way independence. Really rivals against George Kollias, Derek Roddy, and Flo Mouriner.

All three of those drummers you mentioned are nothing special. Of course John rivals them. Seriously, all three of those guys you mentioned have no individual style, just generic death metal drumming. Flo Mounier gets special mention for being a dick in person and not caring that the quality of his band's music has gone to hell. Not that Cryptopsy wasn't the biggest load of pseudo tech-wankery I've ever heard.

Anyways, back on topic, Origin songs are hard to cover on drums mainly because the speed keeps them out of most people's skill range. In terms of technique, though, I challenge anyone to perform YYZ as well as Neil Peart. Being that precise is not an easy task at all.
