I finally saw both of them yesterday on my DVR/TiVo.
Wipeout - It's MXC meets mostly out of shape Americans! I was kind of annoyed that despite the fact that they didn't "clear" it (meaning, they got to try again or just skip it), they still got to go on. However, I must admit that it WAS hilarious at some times (like those giant red balls & some of the contestants during that one stage where they all had to jump over this swinging pink....thing). My parents also loved it, so we're gonna be recording it for now on. Again, it's like the MXC "dub"; it doesn't take itself seriously & if you keep that in mind, you'll probably enjoy it.
I Survived.... - 1st off, Majide means "Serious/Seriously?!", NOT what that guy said. Wanted to get that out of the way. The best way I can describe this is Survivor in Japan, except staying in hotels replaces camping outside & the challenges/elimination are replaced with the gameshow part. I'll have to watch some more to see if I really like it, cuz right now, I don't know...
