*The mongoose and viper is like an old folktale among the Okinawans. Vipers are indigenous to the Okinawan islands, and they're poisonous, so mongeese were brought in as an attempt to control them (mongeese are natural snake predators). To this day, Okinawa still has a lot of vipers and many people are still bitten.

オキナワ音階を使ってマジ－ＳＫＡ調にポップスアレンジしてみました。
デモ作っているときはなかなかうまくいかなくて「この曲、どうなっちゃうんだろ。。」と心配していたんです が、
いざ作り始めたら面白くて。
いつも通り、Ｊｉｍｍｙさんとレコーディングしたんですが、とても楽しみながら出来ました♪
作詞はもちろんＭＡＫＩですよ。ハブとマングースが恋をしたなんてちょっと夢があって面白いお 話しですね。
さすがはＭＡＫＩです。
Working off of Okinawan-based sounds, I have arranged it into a pop style through the sounds of SKA. When we were still in the planning stage, the development of this song did not come out smoothly and I was worried how it would turn out. But, once things progressed, it was very enjoyable. As always, we worked with Mr. Jimmy in recording which was very fun and enjoyable outright. The lyrics were done by MAKI. It's a very interesting and unique story of how the viper and mongoose fell in love. That was very clever of MAKI.

琉球ランデブーという曲をいただいて、聴いて聴いて聴きまくりました。
無意識に口ずさむほどでした。

と思います。
After receiving the song titled Ryu Kyu Rendezvous, I listened to it over and over until I could hum the song myself. I think the character design turned out to be a perfect match for this cheerful sounding song.

When I hear Okinawa, I imagine blue skies and the ocean,
Seesa [I don't know how to say this in English, but here is a picture of it] and the hibiscus. This animation shows all those Okinawan elements. Even natural enemies [the viper and mongoose] hold each others' hands and became lovers. We live in such troubled times, we need to go back to the basics of LOVE & PEACE! I think this video expresses that very well.
