This song's intial concept was based on the idea of a female vocalist with a twist. The first idea that I thought of, “girls” having a sweet tooth and displaying the desire and risks that comes from sweets in general (maybe I am too biased? I am terribly sorry if I offended anyone). The lyrics are designed, especially the chorus portion, to linger in the listeners’ head long after the song is done.
“Twinkle☆berry” is composed of a, “new duet group: two lunatic-happy Kansai high school girls” who sang heartily to this bizarre song. Please welcome them both. These two girls, they are always enthusiastic during recording and for food, always are happy and energetic, and are very close to each other. Mr. Yeui and myself often times thought to ourselves, “Young girls are always so hyper, energetic, and cute”, which made us realize that we are comparing their youth to our old geezer auras.
Like always, Ms. Hagu designed the clip for our song. All sweets that appear in this video look very mouth-wateringly delicious, for reals. The protagonist, Yomogi – chan, also is very cute and charming. No matter how I look at her, she kind of resembles Ms. Hagu! (not the sexy, transformation magic version, sorry to break it to you), although I am not implying that Ms. Hagu looks like the one AFTER the sexy magic wears off, just to make sure you won’t get it confused!

It’s about a story of a girl who LOVES tarts!
I also LOVE tarts! And so, I had a lot of fun drawing out all the sweets in the video. To be honest, it took much longer to draw all the sweets than it did to draw the girl.
Sometimes, I took a break and went out to get some sweets as references. Of course, as soon as I got some inspiration out of it, I gracefully devoured them all. Too bad I have to pay the price later on (even to this day I am suffering from it…). I really wonder if anyone really sells magical tarts that are neverending?
The girl’s name is, “Kanno Yomogi” (written as “Sweet field” and read “Kanno”, it's a pun). Just from her name sounding so Japanese, I imagined her family business must be Wagashi [a type of Japanese sweets], must’ve got tired of Japanese sweets, and therefore developed a craving for Western-style sweets.
Speaking of Yomogi –chan, Ouji (prince) told me that I look like her, I really wonder? I DO hear that characters drawn by their designers often times resemble themselves. Well, the fact that she loves sweets and can’t control herself is just like me though~, Ah-haha!! (sob)
Oh, and Shizuku –chan from Looks [the girl protagonist from Looks, a GF/DM V song] makes a subtle (or not) guest appearance in the clip. They both are eating sweets, sitting side by side; I wonder if they’re friends?
Hm, and who is that girl with glasses…? [she's the girl protagonist from Saisokutouhikou, a GF/DM V2 song that's also sung by Twinkle☆berry. It is an emuse song and is translated as, "The Fastest Escape"].
