Why? Dunno. Maybe because Exceed Portable had more acceptable sales than the console versions, but I know nothing about that.

uh, okay, it arrived today, but I don't have a clue how to change the note scroll speed on exceed (haven't tried zero yet)
I've tried the up-left up-right up-left up-right centre by pressing up, triangle, up, triangle, right but it doesn't seem to do anything... | |

You do that with L and R. Up and Triangle don't work in the song select screen.
L R L R Right (or Square, whichever you like).
