Default Fixing pad sagging

I've tried using search but I can't find any results. Anyways, I work at the UC Davis MU Games Area and we're going to receive our NXA upgrade kit today. Before that gets installed, I'd like to fix the sagging pads.

One of our regular members mentioned about using business cards to fix this problem, but I haven't seen him around lately. He mentioned that there's a write-up on some forum... well, long story short here I am. Anyone can help me out?

I'm guessing all I'd do is wedge some spacers (some card stock or something close) between the rubber sensor mounts and the rubber sensors themselves... not sure if there's going to be any underlying problems with this solution.

Hey, I play PIU at UC Davis MUGA! Wow, I didn't expect NXA to be here so fast, can't wait to try it!

Anyway... I feel like you might want to post this question on ph-online.net, which has a few more arcade machine owners on there, but I think there's 1 or 2 here who can answer your question as well.

Sorry, I can't help... I don't know much about arcade pad maintenance.

If by sagging pads you mean the whole panel is sunken compared to a newer machine, then the business card method will work. You usually want to put the cards UNDER the bracket and above the sensor, but affixing them to the top of the bracket works too.

If you want to go balls out, apparently you can get some thick foam to affix to the top of those brackets. Hellacious on Pump Haven has the exact name of the stuff. I generally just use foam tape.

If the plexi panels themselves are BOWED down your only option is going to be replacement.

if you have panels that are sunk into the pad, wouldn't you want to mod the rubber corner pieces that hold the arrow up?

if you add more height to the brackets won't it just cause the arrow to constantly be triggered by the weight of the panel?

Don't use business cards, they will slip around and get out of place.

Go to a store that has Scotch double-sided foam tape (this: http://content.etilize.com/Large/11965093.jpg), and cut it into strips that are slightly smaller than the metal bracket on top of the sensor. Once you have the pieces cut into the right size strips, put it on the metal bracket, on top of the black rubberized tape. DO NOT remove the green paper on the tape.

Repeat this with all the panels. I have it done on my machine, and it makes them feel a lot better, and helps with pad quality overall.

Doing that would prevent the panels from making contact with the bracket. The amount of weight needed to actually trigger the sensors would require like a million cards.

Check out my thread on Rhythmatic. I do not recommend using foam mounting tape because it lasts a couple weeks and then its back to where you started. All the details with pictures though at the above link. Enjoy.

I went and bought that foamies thing and I gotta say it worked wonders, I went from not being able to pass Hot Trill at all to passing it no bar.
