Marketplace Rating: 0 | Korean Pad VS. USA Pad For one, I have never seen a korean home pad for ps2, so I ask....
how much better are they than the USA version?
Because I know at least that the USA home version is not very sturdy.
It twists all around when you start doing harder songs.
So does anyone have an opinion? Where can I buy a Korean pad? The package says that it only works on korean and japanese ps2. Is that the game or the pad?
thanks | |

Marketplace Rating: 0 | my honest opinion:
there is NO DIFFERENCE.
But, a lot of the "hardcore geeks" happen to notice a severe difference. The pads are identical to me.
I had 2 korean pads, and one xbox US pad. Totally Identical IMO.

Either is still worlds better than any DDR soft pad. You could even make a case for it standing up to a Fusion.

Marketplace Rating: 0 | Does anyone know of a good may to mad/mount the home pad (like onto some wood or something) to make it not bunch up or slide? I know it's a great pad for what it is, but it sucks balls on a carpet.

Or what you do is tightly D-Tape it to a wooden board that goes under it.
I still want a better pad though, because I'm too lazy to do that kind of stuff to mine.

Marketplace Rating: 0 | i have the korean and the USA
USA
+softer, allows for easier folding, settles better after folding
+avaliable
-PS2 only.
-about an inch shorter
-slides easier
?lighter colored than korean
?says ANDROMIRO on the top(whereas the korean doesn't) and has the PUMP it UP! logo on the plastic part on top
KOREAN
+USB pad. STEPMANIA HO!!!!!!!!!(or kick it up)(or PIU PC)
+stiffer top than the american. slides less
+seems more durable
+about an inch bigger.
+-? has engrish all over the pad
-seems to get more pad misses
-dosen't like to be folded. keeps fold lines
-if you break it, you're fucked now buddy
i have 1 of both. i prefer the american.

Marketplace Rating: 0 | I modded my PS2 Pump pad before ever stepping on it. I copied a friends DDR pad mod, which is as follows:
1) Duct tape the pad to a piece of plywood, leaving an inch or two on all sides. Make sure the pad is flat.
2) Cover it with carpet covering plastic. Sorry, I don't know what it's called. It's thick, clear plastic that's sold by the foot and meant to be walked on a lot. Don't use the spiked stuff! I got some with a texture on it, which is much more pleasant on the feet than slick plastic.
3) Staple the plastic down with a heavy-duty staple gun, the kind that is made to drive staples into wood. Do not put any staples through the mat itself! That could ruin the sensors! This is why you left the extra space around the mat.
4) Duct tape the edges of the plastic down. Also run duct tape down the "seam" in the plastic, as you will have to use two strips to cover the mat because they aren't wide enough to do it with one.
5) (my own invention, I'm so brilliant) If you tend to drift off center because you can't feel where you are on the mat, get some cheap telephone extension cord, cut two pieces each the length and width of the mat, then duct tape them down on the plastic like a tic-tac-toe grid between the sensors.
The result is, quite frankly, ugly, with duct tape crossing all over the mat - but then, I was never wild about the aesthetic design of the mat anyway, and I look at the screen, not at my feet. However, the mat will be much, much more accurate; it'll last longer; and sliding will be much less of a problem.
