The POP Channel (High lv. discussion lol)

Probably the least popular channel in Pump It Up, and the most controversial one.

Pump received its first injection of occidental music in The Premiere, with songs like Bye Bye Bye, Mambo #5, Take on Me and etc. Being Take on Me the exception to the rule, the rest of the other tracks were horrible:

-Lame covers.
-4 of the selected songs weren't that good even in their original versions :/
-Steps sucked.
-The songs from the brazilian Premiere weren't very different in all these aspects.

They were used again in Prex, and totally dropped in later versions.


Andamiro tried again with The Premiere 3, featuring a lot of tracks from really obscure artists. There are some good little jewels, like Eres Para Mi, Conga (a cover... but a decent one, at least), Clap Your Hands and DJ Nightmare... but the rest of the tracks weren't too exciting :/

-Once again, some of the steps sucked.
-Most of those songs were BORING. I can't imagine someone playing those tracks more than 3 times.

Result.- Premiere 3 is now considered one of the worst versions EVER released.


I'd comment about Prex 3's dropped songs (Master of Puppets, Music and etc.), but I don't like to remember sad things


And finally, after Exceed, Andamiro somehow realized that they really needed to do better in this aspect, and the songs featured after this version were finally good (or well, in most cases... and yes, this list is only a personal opinion ):

-Kiss me.
-Essa Maneira <- the forbidden song
-La Cubanita.
-Power of Dream.
-Fiesta.
-Born to be alive.
-Le Code de Bonne Conduite :P
-Little Less Conversation.
-Name of the Game.
-Rapper's Delight.
-Walkie Talkie Man.
-Hybs.
-We Goin' Fly Remix.


So, what do you think about this controversial channel? Should it stay? Should it get dropped forever? Is it fine the way it is? Does it need MORE mainstream tracks?

I like the pop channel, at first I wasn't the biggest fan but after awhile the songs grew on me and some of them have really good stepcharts. I think it's a good addition to the series, and probably helps more casual players get into the game since it helps to understand the song lyrics. I find myself playing pop channel quite a bit, I just kind of wish there were more songs in it now! I do like how they go all over the world with it too, with Chinese, English, Spanish, and French music. I think the pop channel has a lot of potential that needs to be used! Oh, and they should bring back Burning Krypt!

The POP Channel needs more good songs, I will agree totally on that.

I only play the POP Channel for three songs.

Essa Maneira
Le Code De Bonne Conduite
and
Eres Para Mi

The rest are only if I am tired of every other song that I have already played.
For the most part actually, I remain in the BanYa Channel most of the time.
Since BanYa makes a lot of the songs I like ;P

But if in the next PIU version, they put LCDBC full song in the remix station, I would spend more time in remix than in arcade XD

I'm rather fond of the Pop Channel. Although some songs in there can get run over by a truck, *cough*shakeitup*cough*, I am quite partial to the songs in the Pop Channel. In the next mix, it is my hope they add more songs from other countries, and a Take On Me revival with new steps. But that last one is but a faint dream .

the pop channel's never looked after quite a long time
it seems to me that AM's on the right track on imporving it
but i suggest that they souhldn't put too much rap into the channel
surely there are other catchy tunes out there that can be put in to the mix
this are the songs coming from outside korea: the world more or less

cuz it has some songs that can catch the attention of the ppl... like essa maneira, la cubanita, its the hybs, kiss me, LCDBC, and others...
again why?
cuz their are in a foreign launguage but not on korean launguage, and almost all the people think that if theyre in asian language it sux... so thats why Pop Channel have an avantage against K-pop and banYa channel...
bout the steps.. yeah they are all right...
they can make them harder though... but its ok...
also i agree totally in puting more songs on Pop Channel... they really need it... but i think that they cant put them... cuz the Copyrights... i mean for them... they have to be very expensive to buy a single song...

I wanted to see more songs in Pop Channel. But there´s 1 new song in PIU Zero, and 0 new songs in NX. AM doesn´t give a f**k for Pop Songs anymore.

More songs are welcome, but with good step books, not things like the stupid Let´s Groove NM.
