Total Tokens: 2,276.39 Donate Tokens | PIU Arcade Pads to Regular PC interface? I've always wanted to be able to play PIU at home and I have several versions of the game that can be played on PC, as well as the PS2 releases, but the home pads are awful so I just don't play.
If I were to buy arcade PIU pads, can they be easily interfaced with a regular PC and PS2 system? Is it just a regular USB interface between the arcade pads and the arcade hardware?
Thanks in advance for any information.

Either play at the arcade, or get yourself a metal pad.

I was considering buying a complete arcade machine so the pads would be much cheaper even if I bought them brand new. The closest arcades to me that have any version of Pump worth playing are an hour and a half away. It would be nice to play at home and I also unfortunately need the bar as well.
Do you know how one would interface them with a regular PC or perhaps PS2?

Even so, if there was a way, why would you bother playing Exceed PS2 when you have an arcade machine already? I highly doubt anyone who buys a machine is going to waste their time and money just to play stepmania with arcade pads.
If you need a bar, use a chair or make one. You can pick up the supplies at any hardware store.

Total Tokens: 2,276.39 Donate Tokens | Yeah, I saw that they are $2500 which is expensive, but it would be nice to have perfect brand new pads. I would want to use them on both PS2 and PC (for sims). I just wanted to know if it's possible to do, so thanks for the information.
Maybe for now, I'll just try to see if I can find some good metal pads somewhere. I don't want to get MyMyBox as I've read less than great reviews regarding them. Has anyone ever gotten these pads link: Plataformasdebaile Expert Pads. They look great for home pads.

Total Tokens: 2,276.39 Donate Tokens | I do see machines that come up on Ebay from time to time but I haven't really seen any that I thought were a good deal. Also, the shipping would be a killer. Any other good places to look for used machines?
I guess I wanted the pads more for SM and other sims and less so for PS2 Exceed. There's a lot that has been done with SM and other sims that make it that a lot of content is available to play if you have good pads. I've been using the crappy PS2 Exceed pads that are like playing on a Slip-n-Slide.

Total Tokens: 976.62 Donate Tokens | there are machines that pop up at $1,500 shipping = $700 in most cases : $2,200 another suggestion would be to check your local arcades... if they haven't been upgrading they haven't been making money so they might let it go for a cheap price.

you need an usb joy and the ENTIRE PIU ARCADE dancepad, in order to use the JAMMA connector to make the modification.
here a picture explaining the JAMMA circuit:
this diagram is not perfect to make piu modifications, but helps ;D because JAMMA is for arcade dedicabs like street fighter, neo geo ..you know)
the UP DOWN LEFT RIGHT AND BUTTON 1 = 5 inputs for player (depending the JAMMA side)
the other side is exactly the same
dont worry about wire order...., you can wire in any signal point because the game can be remapped in options mode, otherwise in your joy2key favorite software.
the coin, service and test are the same in a PIU Cabinet. (because JAMMA is a wiring RULE for arcade systems)
the final result must look like this:
homemade board used to make workable STEPMANIA into a PIU cabinet.
tip: in order to JAMMA pinout, make sure you have connected a +12v wire (yellow power wire) from computer... because the I/O boards inside each dancepad needs power to work.
