Oh ok. Besides the fact that AM didn't sell anywhere near the amount they wanted to in the US.

I wouldn't think that enough people would quit playing in arcades to stay at home and play an old release that it would impact their earnings that much, but then Koreans are fucking weird so I wouldn't quite put it past them.
DDR is much more well known in the US (and yes I mean US) than PIU is.
You say DDR in the US almost everyone knows what you're talking about.
It's an entirely different situation. Show someone a PIU game and they wont know how to play or wtf it is until you say "it's like DDR".

I think releasing Pump titles on the PSP is a dumb idea, but obviously enough people disagree with me to make Exceed Portable enough of a hit to convince them to release Zero too. Arguing about it on an internet forum isn't going to change anyone's opinion about that, either, I'm just trying to articulate why exactly I don't like the idea, instead of going around going all LURR DURR DURR, THSI PUMP IS A SUCK!!!!one

Hell, I might even buy it if I had a PSP, but that wouldn't stop me from questioning why they don't release one you can play with your feet, you know, like it was designed for.
I'm not accusing you of being a bigot saying things like that. I'm saying that instead of complaining about the PSP release and just bluntly saying this f**king blows, rather what we should be doing is encouraging the overall idea of a Zero release as a whole, maybe then poking ideas that the american market also wants to see a PS2 release if possible. Not "F**k PSP what the hell was AM thinking this is blasphemy they're ruining the idea of the game".

Ours is DX too, with the large projection screen and rear projector. Screen goes blurry too, but a falcon punch to the lower side of the screen nudges the projector back in place. Pads are always nice. Also a spinning disco ball above but that's not entirely necessary. =\

Ok, ok.

1) People do not magically know about products through telepathy. One builds brand awareness through advertising, and Andamiro didn't really do that in the US. Lack of interest was one among several factors which contributed to SE's failure; Andamiro's low expectations/laziness/whatever the reason is that the USA always gets shafted for official support was another.

2) Exceed SE has little to do with anything relevant to this thread.

3) The only reason I'm arguing about it is because it pisses me off when people depict a multifaceted problem as being due to only one factor, so having said this I'm through discussing it.

4) I don't like playing dance games on a controller that isn't a dance pad. It's fun for a few minutes, but I find it pointless overall. I'd rather play on a pad. Other people disagree; this is fine. Had I a PSP, unless I had rather more to spend on games than I do now I probably wouldn't go out and buy a game I'd likely quit playing after unlocking everything just to "support Pump", for the same reasons that I won't do Andamiro's US public relations for them. Okay? I just repeated myself twice, I'm done talking about this too. I don't have to buy or like Zero Portable to be able to say that I think a PS2 release of Zero would be a great idea and that I'd buy it. The two are essentially unrelated. To each other, and to this thread, really.

So you're suprised there's no PS2 port?

Other than the fact that it contributed to the fact that AM made the PSP port not the PS2 port.

I'm not commanding you to go out and buy the PSP game =\. I'm saying (because me and a handful of other ppl tend to think otherwise apparently) that we should hold off on our "f**k you Andamiro" for one second to realize that they're just another company trying to make money on whatever way works best. And apparently to them, YOUR way isn't best for the future of their company so deal with it. Bitching wont solve anything. Again, buy it or not, get a PSP or not, there are plenty of other games out there for the PSP than just PIU or Disgaea.

As Koala said, the weak sales of Exceed SE are probably not going to affect sales of future PS2 versions in South Korea, since Exceed KOR for PS2 is the real indicator... I think this needs to be thrown out, since people are placing too much emphasis on the American problem, when that's hardly relevant to the situation.

Anyway, I'm hoping that this is an indication of a future PS2 version, since not everyone has arcades in driving or walking distance... considering how strong PIU is in Korea (80 NX machines in the country), there's no reason why PIU wouldn't sell, since it's so well known.

I hope there is a PS2 release as well.

Don't get me wrong it's not like i'm against it or anything.
But i'm more willing than most i guess to deal with what i got.

Only things I ignore about this:

-How many revivals (from Exceed Portable) will it have? I hope they try to keep them as minimal as they can. I don't mind about some of my favorites, like FORBIDDENPOPCHANNELSONG (Essa :3 ), Extravaganza or Slam, but I want to play, in most part, songs that weren't available in the previous port.

-In which way will you earn the dance points? Will it be based more on score, or just the steps you make?

-How will they deal with loading times? Exceed Portable already loaded too much in the song wheel, and since Zero is heavier, graphic wise, in this aspect...

The possibility of Exceed Portable revivals in Arcade Station is almost null. However, this does not count Easy Station and Anothers (which I'm not sure are even in the game). And since the quality of the game is obviously being toned down to fit the UMD, I'm sure the loading times can't be much worse than Exceed had.

Someone did a song count I think and it seems they kept Another station.

Though I can't bee 100% sure on that.

But we are 100% sure Easy station is there. With two new entries: Mr. Firefighter and Power of Dream.

Yeah that was me, and now after further reading I've found out that Another channel is 100% officially in the game.

I never got used to the old Pump on PSP. I'll play it more, and then give this one a try..

Since I did like some Zero songs.

It isn't that hard to get used to PSP control scheme. I mean, it's easier for me to beat Canon D and Dignity on it than on a keyboard XD

And Right and Square will come in hand with those annoying 555555555555555555555555 machine guns.

I totally agree the control scheme is very simple to get used to.
It's only a problem when you're too lazy to try to figure it out.

With the button changing option, you shouldn't have a problem with anything. Except for FS/NM, which I don't think is possible with any button configuration. The d-pad will still pose problems either way.

I can do FS songs on Exceed about as hard as Canon D.

It takes a lot of getting used to. Especially since you get so used to the easy single pad controls.
