Other than that, the thing's been registering like a charm. It's actually easier to hit threes than I'd like it to be, since there is no metal separating where the two buttons touch. Kind of a minor complaint, but it's still worth mentioning.

But, yeah, so far it seems like this thing was made ONLY for PS2 Exceed and Stepmania. They REALLY should have had this thing install as a gamepad.

More critique when I get it!
Wait... if it registers for PS2 Exceed, it SHOULD register for PIU PC, unless the PS2 is considering it a PS2 controller, which can't be, because it's USB. Did you install the drivers for the USB for PIU PC? With the drivers, PIU PC will recognize any regular PIU pad including the USB kind that worked with Exceed PS2 and Exceed SE PS2. The "real" USB pad used for PIU is a peripheral as well, so that's why I'm wondering why you're having trouble using it within PIU PC.

Well, when I plugged it in, it installed it automatically as an HID compliant device. I haven't had the chance to try it with PS2 Exceed yet. I have my buddy's PS3, and another one of my buddies are gonna let me hold their copy of PS2 Exceed...so I'll find out then(it may not even work in the PS3...).

Are there any specific drivers that it's supposed to be installing? It didn't come with a CD.

Do you have any drivers for me? lol

The CD (which I don't have access to at work) has a program called AUTOPLAY.exe which has a Test Pad functionality. Running that will make PIU PC install the USB drivers for the HID that is the USB PIU pad.

I don't have it here at work, but I can try to upload it to PH and link it, unless the mods have a problem with it (which I don't think they will).

OK, that would be awesome. Thanks.

Also, I tried the pad with a PS3(sans Exceed) and I didn't see it register any of the inputs. It *could* work with Exceed still, but I'm doubtful.

I heard that USB pads don't work properly with PS3s (I should try that myself). Do you have a PS2 lying around? Plug it into that and boot up Exceed, and see what happens. It works for sure on the fat PS2... I think only one works with the slim PS2.

Also, I forgot to upload the drivers, but I will today, sorry

Yeah, probably no use trying it with Exceed then. Nah, I don't have a PS2 lying around; the few that I had all went to shit o me.

Take your time with those drivers, man; I gotta figure out why my computer's shitting out on me before I can even use the damn things. D:

navfn: Nah. I've never even heard of the website before your post, so I wouldn't have a clue. Sorry man.

Ok, so I uploaded the drivers to PH in a temporary folder set to expire on the 9th of March:

http://ph-online.net/stepmakers/vali...USBdrivers.zip

The program is from the Banya Collection, but it'll do the exact same thing as the Prex 3 PC one. Run Autoplay.exe, and pick Setup Pad. Follow the instructions, and it should work with the mymybox pad which is apparently an upgraded Prex 3 pad from what I'm hearing.

Awesome, thanks man. I saved and uploaded it, so once I have my computer refixed, I'm gonna give that a shot.

PUMPANDGROOVE - Plataformas para Pump It Up

Site works for me. Anyways, not to hijack the thread or anything, but do you know the difference between their 'expert' and 'advanced' pads?

I also picked up a set of PIU pads from MMB. Haven't even used them with my 3 CS mixes yet because I'm still trying to adjust them properly. Two of the arrows are too sensitive, two are not sensitive enough, and one is just right, as if to mock me.

I like having hard PIU pads, but they're a long way from arcade quality. (Actually, with the state of the arcade machines around here, they're right there at arcade quality, but...)

Anyone up for turning this into a "how do I calibrate my *&@$ pump pad" thread?

Well, I just placed an order with Technomancer for a pair of metal piu pads. So, I'll be reviewing them in about a month or so (after I pick them up ).

The sensitivity is a lot better for me than it was initially. Still not arcade quality, but definitely serviceable.

I'll upgrade my final review to 7/10. Maybe even 7.5/10. Still hard to recommend because of the price and quality.

Oh, and those Pump drivers didn't work. The AutoRun program didn't even acknowledge it. :p

Bit belated, but: why does only one pad work with the slim PS2? Someone stated this above and it's true at least for mine. Anyone know?

I'm thinking of getting one of these(preferably used) soon to tie me over until I have the money for a machine, but I'm not sure if it's worth the price.

how's yours held up?
