So, for the past 3 years, I've been wanting to go to this event held every year in South Beach. They always have the big name TV chefs like Emeril Lagasse, Bobby Flay, Mario Batali, etc. and they cook a ton of food for you to try out, as well as hold seminars on how to prepair food, wine and food pairings, and all that high ritzy stuff along with burger cook-outs and such.
I'm probably going to take my girlfriend to this event, but I haven't decided if we should go to the Grand Tasting ( Link) which is all day for $212.50 per person, or go to the Amstel Light Burger Bash ( Link) for $200 per ticket. I kinda want to meet Rachael and Bobby upclose, but I also want to feel like I've done more things.
Tickets will go on sale in about 20 days, and I'm fairly certain that they'll sell out pretty fast, even at those prices. If I can't get the tickets to the Burger Bash, then I'll probably go to the Grand Tasting event.
So, who else has $200+ to spend for a day of tasting good food and having a great time rubbing elbows with celebrity chefs?

10,000 pesos (using estimated exchange rate) just to attend a one-time event.
On the plus side though, one will get to taste food from Emeril, Bobby Flay, Mario Batali, Alton Brown, Tyler Florence and other Food Network chefs.
So it does have its benefits

If only Alton Brown's crazy ass would show up

In any case

"Dear Mr. Flay
I tire of your use of mango salsas for everything. Just because it's good the first 10 times doesn't mean it's good for everything after that. And damnit, it's a CHUTNEY. FUCK...
Also, button your fucking shirt. You're a goddamn professional, start acting like it.
How Morimoto kept enough composure to not punch you square in the nuts after dancing on that cutting board after your Iron Chef battle, I'll never know. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a big Morimoto fan, he's definitely no Rokusaburo Michiba, and even Nakamura had a one-up on Morimoto as an Iron Chef Japanese. But I digress. Where was I? Oh, right, you should've gotten punched in the balls. Totally.
Your pal,
- MC Malicious Gravy
P.S. Alton Brown is so much cooler than you'll ever be."
Uhhh, or, you know, enjoy yourself. That'll work too. :B
