I have yet to have a really good pizza at Domino's, Pizza Hut, or Papa John's. To the best of my knowledge, the best pizzas are almost always found at local independent pizzerias.

I used to think that, until I got sick of almost every single one in town. Then we head for the pizza chains. But if I wasn't sick of most of them, I would agree.

Personally, the best Chain Pizza restaurant in my opinion is Dominoes.. I've just always like it.. Other than that.. If your going local, I've got a place near me, about 4 minutes walking from my house, that makes very good pizza, little italian man by the name of Momento, grew up on his pizza, him and my dad go back, turns out they both grew up in long island, but were born in Sicily.

If your ever in North East Pennsylvania ( for some odd reason ) Check him out, hes in my town ( real easy to find in a phone book or something ) Momento's pizza..

BUT! YET AGAIN! There is that guy that makes Buffalo chicken pizza that is like.. ZOMG NEED NEW PANTS!

I am not a fan of chain pizza places at all. Just can't stand the taste.

My favorite pizza's from a local place called Vintage Pizza. Best pizza, and best mozzarella sticks ever.

Cool. You bumped this thread.

My best local pizza chain is Paddington's Pizza. I think they always get voted best pizza in the state.

Surprisingly, the best pizza around here tends to come from the Pizza Pizza chain or the Pizza Nova chain. I find that any of the independent places, while they can outdo the chains on occasion, are far too hit and miss when it comes to consistency. Most of the time their pizza isn't as good as that from the chains.

Pizza Hut isn't bad up here, but Dominoes is pretty horrid.

There's a pizza shop near my house called Goody's. Their pizza is pretty damn good. They don't burn their pizza and it's not greasy at all.

CPK is alright, I like their bbq chicken pizza as well as the one with the 3 meat thin crust.

Bucca di Beppo has good pizza as well.

Where I come from sadly only has Pizza chains, the worst being that godawful Pizza King chain in our state that makes me want to puke. The best overall though currently goes to Papa John's.

I live in a 2 square mile town with 11 pizza places...

... I don't go to any of them.

Theres a little local joint in Florham Park (Town next to Madison) called (SURPRISE!) Florham Park Pizza. They make the best fucking pizza in the universe.

And on certian days of the week they offer deals on multipule pies.

I think California Pizza Kitchen has got pretty good stuff. Nice variety and some unusual toppings which taste great like their barbeque chicken topping. I also like Shakeys... I really like their thin crust pizzas, not to mention the mojo potato things with dip are awesome too.

I'm not really a fan of making your own pizza, since a lot of the time it doesn't really come out to what you want it to be and you would be better off getting the phone and ordering but there are times in which it does turn out great.

As a comparison, for Australian pizza braches:
- Domino's is new, slightly expensive and don't provide enough toppings,
- Pizza Hut is outdated, really greasy with moderate toppings. Prices are okay
- Pizza Haven is a crappy Australian rip-off. Cheap, moderate toppings but the taste of the pizza itself is weird...

Your best bet is to go to one of those local pizza stores as they usually provide you with competitive prices, a decent amount of toppings and great customer service.
