Guys, what part of she's not a fan of ramen and mac&cheese are you not getting, lol. That keeps popping up...

Just snack the whole way. I started doing that recently and it's really helping me keep my energy level up without having to stop to eat a big meal. That tortilla suggestion was awesome, I'm going to start doing that.

I don't drink alcohol, and I certainly don't do it in my dorm.

I'm still trying to find wheat bread. Nothing at the three campus stores, so it looks like I'll be taking a hike to somewhere off-campus and stocking up.

Seconded. Seriously, there are both cheaper AND better-tasting foods than ramen on a low-budget.

Agreed on the granola bars. Two boxes of Chewys (10 bars each) last for about a week and a half, at least for me...

Crackers and tortilla chips are also really good...

1) Go to army surplus store.
2) Buy MREs.
3) ???
4) Profit.......?

Honestly, please don't go through college living off of MREs. I mean, hell, they're cool (tiny single-serv Tabasco, anyone?), but not worth the trouble.

In all seriousness, oftentimes eating out can offset the cost of getting food and making your own meals. Find the mom-and-pop, cheap-ass restaurants around town and you will soon realize that you can get a full, decent meal for $3.50 or less. Add this to making lots and lots of friends in the dorm and mooching off them and you have a cheap, easy way not to starve to death. You're a girl, anyway, so you will get plenty of free food.

Also, you are going to have to get used to going downstairs to make decent food because you will get sick and tired of eating cold, mostly unprepared food all the time. Either that, or break the rules and just get yourself a stove. You won't get caught unless your roommate is a rat.

Also, it is illegal to resell MREs. It has something to do with the fact that they are purchased by tax payers' dollars to feed soldiers, so it would be unethical to resell them back to civilians and make a profit.

Can you even buy MREs as a civillian? I really don't know. They actually do taste pretty good. Ask some friends how to make an MRE bomb

you a fan of Chef Boyardee stuff? I'm completely stocked with Spaghettios and cans of ravioli because I don't have a meal plan this semester and they're madd good. Just get to a discount grocery outlet, they're dirt cheap.

I'm a hefty eater so.... I can't help you there. I perfer to go and get a 1 pound package of lunch meat for only like 3-4 dollars which is like WAY more meat than the other Oscar Meyers ones even though it's 1 pound of Oscar Meyers meat. I also get Bar S hotdogs, the stores own brand of hotdog buns. and Austex chili dog sauce which I can get for 44c a can so... it costs me like 25c per chili dog when ever I make chilli dogs.

You also have instant ramen and if you want more nutrition many of htem have vegetables inside. Those just take water so that should help out.

You could also get some of those microwaveable burritos (even though you dont like microwaving much) because those ones are REALLY good and my favs are Las Campanas and Jose Ole I think. I don't know waht you have avaible but... that's all I can really do to help you with your probelm. Goodluck. Oh one final note. You could always try the 2 or 3 dollar oven bake pizzas. The ones without boxes are cheaper.
