I made myself a roast beef sandwitch this morning for school, and I forgot to put the roast beef back in the fridge. If I eat roast beef that's been out for six hours then re-refrigerated, will it make me sick?

Probably. I never eat any meat product that's been out for more than 4 hours.

It's risky. If you do still crave roast beef, nuke the shit out of that sandwich (make sure the meat reaches 165 degrees F minimum) before taking a bite.

You'll be fine.

I've had full-day old roast beef that sat unrefrigerated with no problems.

I also drank a decade old can of Dr. Pepper one time - much to my astonishment, it was edible.

yeah that is weird with pop. my friend and i used to get all the expired, unsold pop from the local esso for free and it tasted fine.

we'd have so much pop that it took up his whole deck and sat there over the summer and winter, until the cans started exploding on the deck, forcing us to drink it.

but anyways, yeah, i agree, you're probably going to be fine. unless it looks really bad, smells, or whatever, it should still be good but heat it up first just in case to kill whatever's on it.

I dunno about that, I've had a friend of mine get sick from such an issue, but it also depends on if you do reheat it or anything.

Yeah it's a little old to be responding to this, but that would be fine, unless the meat was sitting in the sun or something. Anything else is just PARANOiA.

i guess the fact that the dr. pepper suddenly became an edible food product didn't astonish you that much

The food I would be worried about is processed food ( I.E. ground beef, sausage, other stuff). that shit needs to be refrigated if its been sitting around for like 30 minutes.

I don't think I ever remember to put leftover pizza* in the fridge the night I order it, and it's always fine the next day.

*With pepperoni on it, if you are dense and did not get my point.

three day old pizza left outside though, like i have done, is absolutely vile. cold pizza from the night before may be the next best thing to, well, fresh hot pizza.

Go hit up Quiznos for one of their advertised Prime Rib sandwiches/subs/whatever.

I hear they're full of meat and tasty.

I wish there was a Quiznos in the area.

Honestly though, I'm surprised this thread is still alive!
