Haha sorry. It was some of the nastiest tasting alcohol I've ever had. It does get you drunk really fast and it kind of feels like a different type of drunk. We didn't see hallucinations though. I probably won't get anymore just because of the taste.

I tried it the original way, with water and that was just really nasty. Then I started mixing it with all kinds of different fruit juice which made it alright to drink.

Damn, that's dissapointing to hear. Guess I'll just skip getting some of that and get a bunch of Vodka instead, and some stuff to mix it with.

Did you use the sugar cube Keith? With the spoon? Because that was the way I HEARD you're supposed to drink it (in a louche I think it was called since the Absinthe is too strong to drink straight up. Does anyone have the proof number?)

Also, if you're drinking it cold, try using simple syrup to sweeten it instead of fruit juice (I believe it's 3 cups of sugar to 2 cups of water), as it might sweeten more than just juice.

Most absinthe I believe is around 120 proof. And yes, holding a spoon with sugar while pouring chilled water over it is the best way to drink it.

Oh, come now, it isn't that bad to drink straight up.

If you're already wasted, that is, much like I was when I drank Absinthe straight. Then you don't notice the taste on it at all.
