So, it's Thanksgiving weekend, which means I make my annual pumpkin cake. I personally love it, as does most of my family. Next month however, I make red velvet, which when done right, is quite possibly the best cake you'll ever have.

What kind of cakes do you guys like?

My local grocery store sells this Chocolate cookie dough ice cream cake. It's pretty gnarley.

I hate freaking white bread cake. Makes me want to vomit for some reason.

I prefer dark cake or chocolate bread cake I think.

I think the cake you're referencing is called Angel Food Cake. I have a love/hate relationship with that stuff. The chocolate stuff is Devil's Food Cake.

My favorite cake has to be homemade black forest cake. Second favorite... probably homemade mint chocolate creme cake. Other people swear my cheesecakes are really good, but I don't like or eat cheesecake...

Chocolate, Chocolate. Anything chocolate, that isn't overly frosted, or has some nasty filling. Other then lemon, and chocolate filling. Those are good.

A few years back, we got a complimentary Red Velvet cake from a mail order gourmet foods company (because they kept sending catalogs to my deceased Grandfather, even after we asked them not to several times.) The circumstances that lead up to us getting this cake may have been crappy, but man, that cake was fantastic. Unfortunatly, Red Velvet cake is pretty hard to find around these parts.

My cinnamon strusel cake came out awesome.Used some Cinnamon bun icing for the frosting.IMO it was more of a giant cinnamon bun than a cake .

Also my apple cake's good too.

Oreo Chocolate cake.

The kind that includes little chunks of oreo in it and whole MOIST DELICIOUS Oreos on top.

I hear that Red Velvet cake is very popular in the South. apxn mentioned really liking Red Velvet, so I might ask him if I really wanted a recipe.

Coldstone has (had?) a really good mint oreo ice cream cake, good stuff and homemade Red Velvet cake is damn good too
