OK, it's become apparent to me that I'm going to have more time on my hands than I expected for the next couple of months. One of those things I've always meant to do is expand my cooking repertoire, and to do this I need cookbooks or recipes. This is where the good folk of Bemanistyle come in...

Share your favorite recipe here! Or, alternatively, point me to a cookbook you really like. I'm especially interested in Moroccan and Mexican cuisine, but reply with anything that you think I or your fellow Bemanistylers won't have heard of yet.

Edit: I didn't make it clear that I meant cooking recipes - i.e., soups, stews, entrees, appetizers, etc. There's already a thread for Baking Recipes on page 2 of the forum (too lazy to link).

Easy to Make Pork Soup (modified from something I saw on Allrecipes.com)

2 Lbs of pork (boneless ribs or a small roast will do) cut into small pieces
Potatoes
Corn
Celery, diced
Onions, diced
tomatoes, cut into small pieces (optional)
a pot full of water
your choice of spices (I used oregano, salt, seasoning salt, italian seasoning)

Bring a huge pot of water to boil. Add all ingredients, including the seasoning, into a pot, and let boil for five minutes. Cover and let simmer for about an hour or two, stirring occasionally if you like. During this time, check on the broth, and add salt if you wish. Remove from heat and serve.

POWER PASTA
The Strongest Food Pasta dish in the world

What you need:
1 bulb of garlic
2 teaspoons of Extra Virgin Olive Oil.
1 stick of salted butter
6-10 shakes of :
Basil
Oregano
Crushed Red pepper
Cayenne powder
Kosher Salt
1 lb. of spaghetti.

How to prepare:

Set a big pot of water to boil on the stove. Once this is accomplished, crush the garlic bulb
(I say crush because it helps you get the skin off more easily)

Once the skin is off the garlic, salt it with kosher salt (this keeps the knife blade from sticking to the garlic) and chob it up into little chunks.

Once the garlic is chopped to your liking, Put it in a measuring glass along with a stick of butter and two teaspoons of olive oil. Then add seasonins mentioned in the ingreadients list. Heat the sauce in the microwave for 1 minute thirty seconds.

Add the pasta to the boiling water then drain it, and add sauce. It's verry delicious.
