There are many shitty-westurn-style varities to make sushi, so here are some TRADITIONAL japanese oens:
- Add salmon (sliced into a .5 inch stick format), and you have salmon sushi.
- Add oshinko (japanese-style pickles, they are yellow) and you have Oshinko-sushi.
- Add some sliced cuecumber (make sure its sliced into long sticks, roughly the length of the seaweed (if faced from up to down)), then you have "kappa-sushi".
I think making the cucumber sushi would be more easier at first, then work your way up to some of the meats, but definitely stick with fish, do not add meat, unless if its eel. (unagi-sushi).
Also, you can youtube the username "cookingwithdog", there is a sushi recepie that the lady makes on one of the videos.
I hope this helps.
