Meaning, they should have sorted their shit to begin with, and this "japan-only price drop" wouldn't be happening. Furthermore, it's a slap in the face to the rest of the world.

This entire Gran Turismo thing is a money ploy. There's no concept, just a simple "purchase tracks and items online with real money for virtual objects. It's ridiculous. How can anyone honestly take this seriously? Even the most die hard Sony fan should at least have enough common sense to 1) Wait until the price drops and/or 2) Wait until they've ironed out the bugs and released a decent array of PS3 titles which aren't launch ones.

Where the fuck did I say anything about international moves? Nowhere? Exactly. But to answer your mangled question, no, this isn't an international move, because they've only considered japan and their prices based on the japanese community and their reaction to it. They aren't currently caring for the american, or more specifically, rest of the world fans who appeal to Sony.

Dewgy asked if I was saying Sony are idiots who can't market, I said yes, and it holds true for the above reasons.

Nobody gives a shit for Blu-Ray, HDMI, HDTV, HDwhatever, 60GB, 120GB, or whatever the fuck they're going to put in there. People want a next generation gaming console. The key word here, is gaming. If I wanted a computer, well, I have one. I don't need my PS3 to do everything-in-one for me.

This arrived in my mail yesterday. $599 US = $908 NZ, so they're making a $300 NZ ($197 US) profit on each console over here. Is this fair marketing? No, of course not, but who would care about an area where their sales aren't going to damage their company whatsoever? Oh, I don't know, but consideration would be nice.

Sony are fucking up, and I'm pro-Sony. Anti-Nintendo, even. But still, I'm not impressed by the PS3, it's price, it's promised games, trailers, graphics, interviews, spoilers, videos, and games in general. There's a lack of launch titles (in comparison to the Wii's, or their "promised" Wii launch, which only time will tell) and I can't honestly say any I've enjoyed seeing DMC4's trailers look like nothing more than the same engine used on a faster machine.

We don't need Blu Ray. We don't need HDTV capabilities, an interface, internet options, faceplates, media centers, buddy lists, or fucking avatars. What gamers want is games. Sony have seemed to lose sight of this.
