Idea for requiring ratings for simfiles

It won't be a quick fix by any means, but a really good method for absolutely guaranteeing ratings for simfiles would be something similar to what the website animemusicvideos.org employs: Each AMV that you download is recorded to your profile. You can only download a limited number of AMVs (I think it's 10) during any given session. Once you log in again, you are immediately shown all the AMVs you've downloaded, and asked to give them a star rating (1-5) plus an optional "quick comment" before you can download any more. I think something like this would be invaluable to bms.com

I don't really like this idea; some members are lazy and might give a simfile a rating without any thought just to be able to download again.

Theres probably no way to avoid that anyway though..

Here's the dilemma: If we force people to rate, they won't give a shit about how accurately they rate the sims. If we don't force or encourage people to rate them, then they won't bother, since, what's the incentive to?

EDIT: Come to think of it, ideas like this have been suggested countless times. Locked.
