Showing simfiles banners in the Database

I think this has been discussed before, but I can't remember what the outcome was :S

Eitherway I think this is a great idea, although it might be a little annoying for people with a lot of files having to go back and upload the banners.

I think he wants it to be just like on FFR.

I'll have to say this isn't a very bad idea at all. The graphics of the sim can tell a lot about it's quality... Although, not always. I know a few sim artists who's graphics aren't very good, but have awesome steps. But if someone just takes a picture, and it's all streched, and skewed with no text or anything, that is a sign of a bad sim.

And if they didn't have a banner, like he said, it will show No Banner Available.

If this does get implemented then please make it a manual process of uploading the banner image with your file, rather than pulling it out of the ZIP automatically like FFR does (although I would expect this would happen anyway since it's easier). The FFR method doesn't work well with files that have animated banners.

If you have a video in your stepfile, you can put a small clip of the video in your banner. I've seen this done before but I'm not exactly sure how to do it.

I've seen this too, once. It's very rare, and I have no idea how it's done either.

So, does any Mod have something to say on this?

all I can say is Xythar's recent works and contest simfiles have animated banners

You should download Late Night Love from DDRExtreme.co.uk :: Home. That pack has A LOT of animated banners.
