Thumbs up Do You think "Hands" were a good addition?

From The DDR freak Dictionary
--------------------------------------
Using your hand to hit a panel. Also a gameplay feature in ITG and PIU, where the presence of three simultaneous arrows forces players to use their hands to strike a third panel.---------------------------------------------
I personally like hands.

you used the wrong "where", you should have put "were"

And yes, I love that, it made the game very fun.

Also your "there" is wrong also, you meant they're.

Sorry, those things just bug me sometimes, but its a forum, so its something to expect.

You sure about your grammar corrections? That sentence seems a bit on the strange side.

As for the addition of hands; I'm for it. I'm not particularly good at them, but I always like songs that have a bit of hand action in them.

Never was a master of hitting the hand steps with my feet, though.

The hands are the greatest thing to be put into a dance simulation game (besides Modifiers and courses) They allow more movement to the game to get that "BreakDancing Feeling"

When used right, they are great, but there are a few songs that I think the hands are more annoying than anything. One of them that comes to mind is twilight, yes the hands there are easily cheated but cheating them takes a lot of the skill away from what they are intended for.

I think one of the coolest things in ITG is the "crab walk". It's sad that I've only really noticed them in Zodiac and Dawn (expert charts)

I tend to do knee drops in some cases (twighlight being one of them) but be able to do that, and doing actual hand plants were a really nice addition to the games, as were mines. They made it so you could design a hard chart without having to be stupid with streams like PSMO and the like.

I like how RoXoR employed hands parts into some of the songs for ITG, but they never really fully unlocked the potential use of them. Still, it was a neat feature that was begging to be deployed in a dance game, besides PIU.

I suck at going down to use my hands, so I pretty much hate them...

I think the whole hands thing is sweet...sept in PIU They come up so fast you end up using ur feet anyway...also in the begining of anubis u kind of look like a flailing monkey when you go down for 4 arrows at once...other then that they at lots to the game.

If they're used right, they can be worth the time. If they're just there to make the chart 'hard' or whatever then they aren't.

Makes me wonder if anyone's ever tried 'hand rolling' (example, jump freeze and then put one or two rolls in on other unused steps for drumrolling hands) for something like drum rolls in a song for their own chart and made it work right.

If they're charted properly, they're great. Anything that gets people doing something that resembles dancing (versus looking like a carousel pony with a rod up their bum) is great for the game.

Hands are a great addition. They're best in the slower parts of songs where the motions can be smoother, more like real dancing than just awkward squatting and floor punching.

I also support knee drops, as I usually do in ROM-eo & Juli8.
