Marketplace Rating: 0 | Handy-ass Utilities for r21 Only adding this since it's been a pain in the ass to find a decent .mp3/.ogg converter. If I ever get a response back, I may add other tools, but for now just the conversion kit. .Ogg Conversion Pack - Simple instructions for a program that doesn't require pain in the ass nag windows per converted song:
* Install foobar2000 from the pack. Place oggenc.exe in the foobar2000 folder.
* Open foobar2000, stick the files you want to convert into the window.
* Select all of the files, right-click and choose "Convert > Convert to..."
* Pick the format Ogg Vorbis.
* When asked, point the program to whatever directory you installed it in to tell it where oggenc.exe is.
* Pick a folder for the converted files to appear in.
* Go make a sandwich while everything works.

Its DOS, apparently, but with proper usage, it can change the timestamp for the OGG file. That is all I'll say.
Hiryuu found the link, so credit him if possible. :P

Marketplace Rating: 0 | That would be the other utility I was referring to. I sent a PM off asking if it was allowed or not, got nothing back. It sets the "length" on an .ogg file to read as 1:45 total, so anything can be played on an r21 cab.

A good deal of us aren't using 5 minute opuses, with the 5mb limit.

If you do a 5 min song, you should let someone else play your other two songs instead or fail the next song choice. Courtesy and common sense. :P If staff wants to put a warning next to that link stating this or something it could help convince random lurkers or newbies...
As for 5 MB limit, Hiryuu's Rhythm and Police and Rama Gardens are both marathons and are less than 5 megs. That is with graphics included and already converted to OGG for Rama Gardens (which is closer to 6 minutes long too).

then compress it down to as low as you can go, make it like a three hour file and 5MB, and just put down one step and awayyyy we go
