Its DOS, apparently, but with proper usage, it can change the timestamp for the OGG file. That is all I'll say.

Hiryuu found the link, so credit him if possible. :P
Thanks! I was looking for this, because I've got hella files I want to play on Stepmania Arcade, Err... ITG2. Sorry, ever since the r21 patch, I don't play ITG songs anymore, except when I'm at home playing Stepmania...

Yeah, and we don't want that. The best thing to use this for is songs that are over by like just a few seconds or if the song is normally 3 minutes or something, like Hot Limit from DDR 5th Mix... HEY! I can totally play that now! You know what... a few songs from ITG 1 were over 2 minutes... Hardcore of The North was 2:10, so people should at least be able to play songs of that length...

I use CDex for my converting. You can choose from several formats, you can set the bitrate, and it's got a good few other options as well. The link has Xilisoft CD Ripper also, which I know nothing about, but it's there. I recommend CDex though...

Like, for instance, "Jay's Rap"...

Oh, by the way, does anyone know of a decent BPM detector that can be used on computers with 128 MB of RAM? I tried using Dancing Monkeys before, but it doesn't work on my computer, not enough memory...

You don't need to triple-post, dood. Just letting you know.

The only thing I'm ever playing on r21 is Pop*Candy. That's practically it...and the crazy another notecharts I make.

As for that timestamp thing, now that that's leaked, I can finally play all the songs in P*C!

I'll have to try out some of my favorite Marathon songs next time I get to an ITG2 machine (hopes to God the FFC has R21 installed). Thanks Fletch and CPUBasic. I know pfx's Torinouta will be a real pain in the ass.

I have 50mb of RAM and Dancing Monkeys works fine. It takes a long time, but at least it works. Is Windows whining about not having enough "Virtual Memory?" If so, just let it whine and keep running. Virtual memory makes up to 1gb of "RAM" out of your seccondary storage, but it really doesn't do anything. I took out my little tiny HD with 1.024gb of virtual memory on it and Windows and all of my games and such ran exactly the same as before.

Does it cut the file or just makes it read 1:45 always? then i can use those songs that are not too long and yet a little over the bar... have 5 seconds or just 1 freaking second

but i did see this mod coming (see my post on how to add music to ITG arcade) i must be physic or somethin' becasue i knew that they were going to think of somehting to add tot the arcade to still get people playing it instead of the home version.

i don't know where you can find this one... it's called OggdropXPd and it converts Wav files to Ogg perfectly without a codec or it's just writen into the program... i tried using Xmplay but it just failed so i'll look for encoder for that program then post it when i find it

I personally like FreeRIP (http://www.mgshareware.com/frmmain.shtml).

Can convert between WAV, MP3, and OGG, and it's free. I found it easy to use.

EDIT: Please note this has MySearch toolbar in it (spyware, I believe) so you may not want to DL it

Take a look for BPM ProScan. It's freeware, and so far it hasn't been that far off the actual BPM (usually it's within 0.05 BPM of what the song actually is).

any reason this OGGLENGTHPATCH isn't working?

ex. 'X:\Zipfiles\ogglengthpatch.exe "Z:\in the groove 2\songs\song folder\song.ogg" <enter> File can't be opened. <scream and pull hair>

X: is your hard drive and z:\ is another drive (such as a flash one)

anyways i was wondering the proper useage of this patch

It took a long time to convert my songs from .mp3 to .ogg and the two FREE tools I have come to discover that works the best for creating custom songs are the dBpowerAMP player (downloads.com), which is good for testing the .pgg files to make sure they work with its drag and drop opening system.

As for converting to .ogg the best tool I have used so far is the Free Audio Pack Free .mp3 .wma converter package (found the audio converter file in downloads.com as well). It too has a drag and drop audio file system which combined with the Search function of the windows explorer system works to quickly convert files in batches. It sadly doesn't have a batching mode itself so you have to batch the files on your own as I said. It is however the most reliable converter I have used so far as it has yet to fail converting any songs.

stepmania.com had a free converter on there. if you look you can find it easy. i use that, and i use goldwave to get around the 5mb limit. i only play long songs when no one else is around and waiting tho. just common courtesy.

Thanks for the lead on the bpm detector. I think Dancing Monkeys didn't work for me because of the songs I was trying to use, and sorry for the triple post way back there. The ogg length patch is actually alot easier to use than originally thought, just drag the ogg file onto the executable and it should be patched just like that, though you should drag the ogg file into a media player just to make sure. I've never had any problem with an ogg not being able to be patched. Anywho, have fun r21ing!

I got the same error with Fall Out Boy - Dance Dance. Is there any song this program can read?
