Default Installed r21 now arcade machine will not load ITG2

Hey everyone,

At my arcade we went to install r21 on the In The Groove machine and after the game installed the patch it went to re-boot the machine. Now the machine will load up to linux but when it tries to load In The Groove 2 it seems to crash and now the machine is constanly rebooting. Is there any way to fix this by re-insalling the revision patch without ITG2 loading or any other resolution?

probably not. had you hacked or otherwise messed with the machine prior to installing the patch?

No hacks. It has a new hard drive and was working fine before the revision installion. We tried to do a factory reset on the cab (holding the service button during the reboot) but that didn't work either.

well, last i knew roxor was still obligated to provide service for machines so that would probably be the simplest solution

Which will be the ultimate solution if we fail to fix it ourselves in the next two days. (We plan to send it the part on monday.)

where did you get the new hard drive from?

from the sound of things, you got a no dongle itg2 drive, which can't take official patches. it's nothing difficult to fix if you don't mind a little hacking.

Don't even put a site link that shows a guide of ITG hacks. That can get you in trouble, too. I mean Captainjack360 got infracted once for providing a site link that has a guide to hacking ITG, though the site is now permanently dead.

from the "don't talk about hacking" topic:

Quote:
This applies [especially] to upcoming songlists, unlock information, game data, song banners, and anything like that. If it's public information, feel free to discuss it, but if the sole source of information is the totally rad secret information known only to you and your friends, then keep it to yourself.
it's public information, and besides, hacking is the only thing that keeps ITG alive anymore

also, kalek is one of the most informed people i know on the subject

Yeah, really. BOXORROXORS.NET!

I told you at ddrfreak, it would be so easy to diagnose the problem.

So you're saying it's okay to post the Boxorroxors site when a couple of years ago, Captainjack360 got an infraction for Posting/Requesting Pirated Media just for posting the groove2 web site. This is like getting away with murder!

ITG is dead. Long live ITG.

If hacking keeps ITG alive, I say support it.

You said it. "A couple of years ago" isn't "now".

This pretty much is the only thing keeping the game afloat.
