Legal Issues with nodding an ITG cab.

I was just given permission to hack the local ITG2 cab. But only if it's 100% legal. I am not asking how, just wondering the legality. I hope this doesn't violate the ITG hacking rules. Sorry if it does.

public performance of music without license to do so from the original artists is illegal

but no one really ever enforces that

as for "hacking a product" honestly once you purchase the machine its yours to do whatever you want with it

you could just replace every song with a woman screaming for 2 minutes if you wanted

That'd be intense! For those of you in the Chicagoland area, the ITG2 CRAP-O-CAB at Nickle City in the NW Suburbs will soon be hacked. PM me for songs you might want to see on it, and themes.

you should not even be really talking about hacking in the forums, as its against the rules, but I guess its really not illegal. Think about it, R21+ allowed players to import really any song they wanted to play without a license. Also since themes and all other things associated to stepmania/ITG are made openly to the public, for the public, its not at all illegal in that area, however its still nice to ask, and give credit for other peoples stuff.

If the hacked parts were moved to BZN, I'm really fscking pissed because I went down there for PIU Pro and ITG2 and got no ITG2 because they swapped parts with the machine in Nickel City and the machine at BZN is borked for the next week or two.

as far as i know hacking the arcade version is ok to discuss; also this thread has been open for several days so any itg moderator should've closed it by now if it's not

Question... now that ITG is discontinued, Roxor does still offer any kind of support of warranty?

If it doesn't, would it matter if someone "modifies the software or contents" of the game?

i believe that they are still offering support on the game but i'm not 100% sure

We don't have PIU (although I'm trying to convince them to get a PIU machine t oreplace the BM 6th, or that obnoxious star wars game behind Extreme)... O.o; and whats BZN, I've seen that before but...
