Hehe, that's true. A good example where you "fake" the hold arrows with your hands and hitting the other arrows with your feet, is the song Dawn.

Another neat trick is to USE your feet, while you have your back at the screen and USE your hands to hit the arrows. Kinda what experts do. Here's a video of my friends playing Dawn (The Netherlands - Carroussel). Check the part with the freezes, that should explain my text above.

I know what you're talking about and I think it's a bad idea to do it that way. You have to rapidly adjust your body position and you are at an awkward angle.

also, your "kinda what experts" do comment is pretty low

especially since 89% on dawn expert isn't a very good score

True, that. I don't want to call my friends experts or anything. That vid was an example of what I tried to describe in words, hehe.

Bump: The original post was down for some time due to difficulties invloving HTML code showing up in it. This seems to have been resolved.

Keep the suggestions and modifications coming! We still may need detail on some key stages of learning streams and crossovers specific to double.

Many odd streams just need to be read over and over and over and over again in order to see how they are done. (Rhythm and Police [KOG G3 Mix], Saints Go Marching...)

It helps if you watch videos of people doing said patterns. For example, I watched a video of Aaron (www.aaroninjapan.com) doing RaP and nearly AAAing it. His method of doing the patterns, one which involved turning your body a lot and in different directions, seemed odd at the time. But after practicing turning mid stream to hit steps, I realized how efficient and effective the technique was. It brought my Extreme grade for that song up to an AA, and helped me FC both RaP and SGM, as well as a few others with PITA patterns.

But, everyone will find different methods here. Some people will not be helped by that at all.

As true as that is, it is a dangerous tactic if overused.

If you push yourself too hard, you might do serious damage.

See my Training thread at some point - it's better to be able to take more than have to push yourself beyond your means.

And as endless people have said before, limber up before play.

this "guide" you have is really good, but i think that this should be added to it:

Mods:
Reverse scrolling
Weird scrolling (Split, Alternate, & Cross)
Effect Mods
Add-ins
Hides
Hold Add-ins
etc.

-just an idea

Drills: 16th note runs on two arrows at 180+ bpm.
