Default Need help with PS2 to PC Converter

I've tried to play ITG 2 and Stepmania on my PC with a PS2 to PC box I received but it will not register the up and down arrow or the left and right arrow together when I test the input or in gameplay. Every other double seems to work fine, is there a way to fix this so it will register? Help ASAP.

I had the same problem with my girlfriends soft pad that she uses for DDR for the Xbox, it registers like a game controller in the computer (meaning up and down/left and right can not be hit at the same time).

What I did was I played with the wiring in the actual soft pad. It no longer works with the Xbox, but I changed it so the Down button = A and the Right button = B, changed the original settings in the configure menu of ITG PC and it worked fine for me that way.

As far as not messing with wires, I don't think theres an actual way to do it. I've looked throughout various forums and websites and didn't find anything sadly.

most converters have a "dance code" where you hold START+SELECT+UP for 3 seconds and it eliminates the axes problem.

When should I hold those buttons? As soon as I plug it in or while I am running ITG 2?

Anytime. I personally don't do it in stepmania because both the start and select will take me to another menu and it's very annoying.

To test whether it worked or not, you can take it into options and go to "test input".

Holding left, before you put in the code:

Holding left, after you put in the code:

Holding left and right after code:

The problem is, the adapters configure arrows like a joystick, you can't move the joystick both left and right at the same time can you? So this code changes it from acting like a joystick to acting like separate buttons.

also you can go into game controllers in the control panel for windows and re-map the L, R, U, and D arrows to be buttons instead of directions, then assign them in stepmania

How do you do this, I see no option to remap buttons.

The code doesn't work, I got it to work though. Had to go into the actual driver and change the mode manually. Thanks for the help though! ^_^
