Is it possible to 'downgrade' from ITG2 Dedicab to DDR? (talk about dedicab)

since ITG machines are relentlessly more sexy, as well as sensitive, and overall better, is it possible to download to Extreme?

yeah it was an ITG1 upgrade

as for "down"grading ITG2 to a DDR mix, I think it could be done

I would like to try but uhhh

I suspect I'd break at least 1 cabinet trying

Yes.
There is a machine here in OKC that was a DDR Extreme, then a ITG1, and now it's a DDR Extreme again.

And now we have a 4th Plus Solo too.

he's asking about the possibility of changing an ITG2 DEDICAB (you know, the ones that are designed solely for use with ITG2) into a DDR mix.

Upgrade cabinets are easy as hell to change, you just swap the ITG kit out and put the DDR kit in, no problem

see if you can get them to try upgrading it to ITG, see what happens

What kind of hardware do DDR cabinets run on? I think going from an ITG2 Dedicab -> DDR would not be possible cause the ITG2 Dedicab has typical PC-like hardware inside it just running Linux. Psssh, correct me if I'm wrong.

What would be the point of putting an ITG kit into a solo machine? Couldn't use the other two arrows...and would not have the ability of doubles.

I just want to see what it would do

a lot of the inputs that it would normally be polling wouldn't be there (for example, the other pad lol)

also, it probably doesn't have anything linked to up-left and up-right

although you could possibly find a way to get it to auto-gen solo steps, and you could play 6-panel ITG hahaha

It looks like the whole auto-gen featured has been taken out of this version of SM...I mean ITG.
