You look at DDR's early mixes, you could tell they were really going across the board. ITG simply has too much generic techno/bland dancepop/bland trance to really grab my attention. Even now, I doubt there are more than eight songs in ITG2 I'd call favorites.
Difficulty has never been an issue with me. C'mon, any stepchart can be made ridiculously super-duper impossible. That says nothing about the overall quality of the game. I'm far more concerned about the RANGE of difficulties, particularly at the lower end.
As for the legal hassles...look, Konami overreacted, it never had to go to a full-bore lawsuit, I understand that, but as a company, Roxor should have checked to see if the way was clear beforehand. Note that Flow: Dance Groove has never faced any heat...because the company that made it didn't use Konami's cabinets. I guarantee you that if Roxor designed an original cabinet (and they should have, anyway, to accomodate PS2 memory cards and USB drives), Konami would've been a lot slower to pull the trigger. At this point, though, I don't care either way, and even if I did, I don't have the power to change any of this. So no argument from me.
All I want now is some kind of closure, and, if possible, one more game for the PS2. I won't go crazy if it never arrives, though. I learned a long time ago that I'm not going to get everything I want, and sometimes, some people just get screwed. Not fun, I know, but there are more important things than video games.

things i like:
-metal arrows are way easier to see
-4x speed mod
-more techno/trance music
things i hate:
-hands
-mines
-the fact that the game is more about making a hard song that will drain you of breath than a more general audience would consider fun. (i say general audience, since i know itg people are all about getting a new song that will make their legs fall apart.)

Bullshit comparison to begin with.
Now I play both Pump and ITG fairly regularly, and I think I can safely say that pump is a lot more about shaving misses off scores, versus ITG, which focuses mainly on turning everything into fantastics.
Sure, there are a LOT of hard pump charts. Nightmare compared to ITG Doubles there are certainly a lot more hard pump charts. But then again, the timing windows are massively different. While FPCing a pump song may be hard, its a lot easier to shave off misses and be left with a nice neat little FPC because the misses turn straight into perfects so much more often than misses or even excellents turn into fantastics. Of course, there are some things that ITG difficulty just cant compare to (Bee Nightmare Another to name one), but its hard for me to consider that as a real chart, because IMO its really dumb.
And as much as you like to brag Kaze, I'd really like to see you pull of some of these quad stars on 11s and 12s you and Dave keep going on about. Sure, 99 then isnt hard, but 100 makes 99 look easy.

The Anothers in Pump It Up are asinine, needlessly complex, and look incredibly boring, slapdashed, and unfun for someone who isn't an alimighty master at the game like all of you people apparently are. The double charts also fall into this category, and some of them barely look playable by one person even if he uses both his hands and feet. The fact that you can't enter high scores in Zero by playing them (or so I've heard) is also bullshit.

It's worth noting that, to me, R21 makes ITG the best by far.

pump it up is a harder game period. I'm not talking about shit like bee nightmare [Another]. I'm talking about anything, like chimera CZ, FAEP 2-2 anything, dignity nm.
if you disagree, you're an idiot.
the timing on ITG is easy. And people don't just FPC the harder songs on pump.
11's have been 100% on ITG, while hard songs have been FPC'd on pump. There are also songs that people are far from 100%ing on ITG and there are also songs that people are far from FPCing on pump
