Since you claim it to be so easy, I'm sure you would have no trouble getting at least a Tri-Star on any 12 or 13, hmm? The fact is, ITG and Pump are both very difficult. Not having ever played any Pump, I have no opinion on which is harder, but I can't really believe anyone is calling ITG songs easy.

I rarely play this game, because of my arguements that I've already stated, if i did, i would have much better scores.

But as to ITG vs. Pump, bah, they both have worthy stuff for satisfying the hardcore player. I personally feel PIU is easier than ITG/DDR at lower difficulties, but it ramps up fast. I can't speak to the absolute maximum, since I can't pass LIADZ2 NM *or*... well, most ITG songs on Expert, actually.
The big difference is in doubles. I do think that the doubles stepcharts for PIU are much better than the ITG charts. ITG doubles steps, IMO, seem to be thrown in as an afterthought, an "oh yeah we've gotta have this too." I also think that freestyling on PIU is awesome fun whereas freestyling on ITG is almost unimaginable (at least without edit steps). To me, these two things make PIU more fun than ITG, difficulty be crocheted.

| Thank you.
Just for the record, Pump is harder at higher levels. I don't think that can be disputed. The validity of some of the bullshit charts might come into question, but thats not the point.
The real question is "WHY are people arguing over this?" Who the hell cares? Both games are hard... I'm just thankful I'm not stuck playing the 26th version of another fucking Max 300 song.
Wasn't the point of the thread, to be "What do you think of In The Groove?"
I feel dirty for posting in this thread.

Originally Posted by Victamone Wait.. If I read that correctly then I'm gonna have to say.. You rarely play ITG but you say you would have much better scores if you did? | Yes, actually. Davo is a good friend of mine (he's actually at my house right now, LOL), and he and I both RARELY play ITG and have 99'd our share of 12's, SDE'd 11's, and (I) have 99'd Summer, so we have room to speak. If we played more, our scores would be better (see: 99'd more 12's, 100% 11's and below, etc.), but we spend much more time playing Pump It Up since it provides far more difficulty than ITG, on both Single and Double.
The fact of the matter is, NOT both games are hard. Pump It Up makes ITG's 13's look like Freckles, and if someone is going to claim that ITG is hard, then PIU is bullshit. You cannot say both are hard, because by doing so, you're suggesting that they are on the same level of difficulty -- which they are not.
The only reason I'm posting here is because people honestly think ITG is harder than Pump It Up. How they are fucking mistaken. Are both of them difficult at their maximum difficulty? Yes, but PIU is easily more difficult. The hardest songs on ITG are being 96'd or higher, whereas the hardest songs on Pump are barely being cleared. Chimera CZ? I saw a video of 29 Misses and that was IMPRESSIVE. That's just Single, though. Chimera Nightmare? I don't think anyone's even gotten above a C on it, which is over 100 Misses. That's not to mention that Chimera isn't even the hardest song on NX. There are anothers, there is Bemera, there is Final Audition 2-2...the list goes on.
If you guys are talking about timing, sure, ITG and DDR have harder timing than PIU. But Pandemonium will be 100%'d before Chimera is Full Comboed, more or less FPC'd.

| ... think about that one...
*Holds up a 50 dollar bill and a 100 dollar bill*
Both are of value. They are not of equal value, But are both valuable?
I'll be honest, I like both games, but I fucking hate the people who play them. You know I'm a big SHMUPs fan, and we are an elitist bunch, but we don't sit around all day debating if either Treasure's or Cave's games are harder. Can't people just accept other entries into the genre and enjoy them for what they are? God forbid people enjoy games and like them better than other games that others don't like.
That’s the reason I don't play them anymore. I can't stand the kids who hang around all day, and ruin the arcade for everyone. Most are not even gamers, and they don't know shit about anything but their precious DDR or Pump or ITG or whatever they play.
You know those assholes that wander into the arcade and just laugh at the idiot on the DDR/Pump/ITG ? They were right.
In conclusion, TechnoMotion is better than all of them, and I'll list a 3 page essay with precise geeky detail of why its more awesome should anyone say otherwise.
