What motivates you when you are playing dance games?
Well for me, I get motivated when I see people watching me.
And know this is true for many of you out there as well.
It gives me adrenalin that I didn't know I had left in me.

Ha When people watch me play i get even more nervous than I am and i start messing up, what motivates me is when im playing a hard song and when im barley passing and its at the end of the song all my friends start cheering me on and saying i can do it, youll beat it, ect ect!

I dont usually go either way when people watch me. I get nervous for a little bit, but after i start playing it goes away.

I'm not really motivated to play these game. I just find them fun and a time consumer when i have some time to kill. Although i do aspire to be able to play infernoplex (at least) im never motivated enough to go to the arcade just to practice.

Well I guess for me you can also look at it like I don't want to mess up when I have people watching.
And then I can pass songs like "I can Walk on water I can Fly" or "Wings of Dispair-Mad Matt-"

Thinking about the guy I like and that if I pass the song really well, it's a step forward to being just like him. (He's an ITG player too. Hahah)

hahaha when people are watching me it gives me more confidence, but after all, its me, when i think in my lugs my muscles everything under my control... its amazing!!!

Oh yeah you know it, good music and good step's help too. I also move a lot faster when i warm up.

no seriously, I play for fun. So whenever i'm in the mood and see one in the mall, I play. No rocket science.

I have to agree with the OP's assertion, at least in my case. Having an audience makes me feel good, but it can be a bit distracting if I feel like they're walking in circles around me.

In general what motivates me is the idea that every time I'm really pushing my limits.
