Why put OpenITG onto a ITG2 Dedicab?

I read about a guy who put OpenITG onto his ITG2 dedicab and I have no idea why he'd do that. I understand a DDR cabinet running OpenITG, but why would someone remove the original engine from an ITG2 dedicab and replace it with OpenITG?

OpenITG is everything ITG2 is and better. Off the top of my head:
-Long Versions and Song length cutoff set in operators menu
-The ability to add songs/themes/announcers etc. in the operator menu
-Compatibility for .mp3 and .dwi
-Song Caching
-Additional mods such as M-scrolls, Roll and Twirl.

The biggest advantage I see is it's a lot more "open source." You don't have to have to know anything about hacking because it's all in the OpMenu.

Talk about OpenITG in the DDR Simulation forums, okay?
