The only recommendation I can give is to use a card that you are confident will work. Finding that card can be difficult, obviously. I use a two gig memorex flash drive and it always works fine. Hopefully someone else has additional suggestions.

Most of the time this happened right after someone would take out their card in the middle of a set, for w/e reason.

Total Tokens: 76.08 Donate Tokens | i use some kingston 2gb card, and it worked fine for ITG 1 machines, but when i used it with a ITG 2 machine, my scores would only temporarily save, my songs would load, but the step charts would not appear at all, and i could not save screenshots.
the problem usually conflicts with built-in software that might be on the drive, like mine, which came with compression software. the drive would automatically compress saved files, which would make them unreadable.
format your drive, and if it doesn't work, just buy a PNY drive.

I've checked stepmania's website and it says that my directory tree is correct. I'm using .ogg and .sm files. No one else is ever really at the arcade when I go, so I don't know if the usb on the machine itself is broken or if it is my flash drive. I go to whirlyball in Plano, TX if anyone knows that machine specifically.

when you get to the save data screen, "MAKE SURE THAT ITS IS DONE SAVING. IN OTHER WORDS WAIT FOR THE LIGHT OR WHATEVER ON YOUR FLASH DRIVE TO STOP BLINKING". the game is not done saving when it goes to the next screen. the usb ports are still working on the save. Why you may ask? because when you snatch the drive out early it messes up the usb ports. then the next person that inserts his might get a card mount error or a no name bug. then at this poing the machine has to be restarted to refresh the ports.
so thats just a fair warning
